Thank you for the vid. This is the main game i want to play on PC but my current build cant handle it so ive been buying parts for the upgrade but held off on the GPU. Really thought a 4080 super paired with a high end CPU (like the 7800x3D) could muster 100+ frames but with performance this bad i think ill just wait until the 50 series launch at the end of the year.

I was going to wait for the 50 series, but considering that the 5080 will perform like a 4090 according to leaks I decided not to wait. And I dont want to continue to play at low settings for a year on my 3070.

I'm confused with this video i have an rtx 4080+ 7 7800x3d and i get around 50fps at ultra settings with clouds turned off

you can make a combination of High/Medium settings that make the game look crazy good at 60fps

I've been playing on the series x and the FPS is between 20 and 30. The clouds look grainy as well with a lot of ghosting from my character and tames that I ride.

On the last bit with 4k epic and frame generation, it's not just the bad frametimes you're feelling. For frame interpolation to properly work you need a good starting fps, so if the base fps is already something like 20fps the game is always going to feel sluggish and weird. What a wreck this game is though.

The frame time issue though has to be an issue with frame generation within the game. I've used frame generation in other games before at 10 fps and not had that same issue

Its funny, game has been out for like 6 months now and still has not received a single performance update at all. My 4090 has problems keeping up with 1440p on max settings, it's sad especially making content on the game :/ The game is estimated to be about 700gb when all maps comes out, and the company doesn't care about file compression. There is gonna be many moments of you updating, patching and then verifying all those gigs, it's gonna be a nightmare eventually.

i am getting 3080 10gb at 323 usd and 4080 at 830 dollar is the vast price difference of 4080 justify the performance per dollar or should i get 3080 now and upgrade later on and remember both are used

I have order an Legion Tower 7i Gen 8 (Intel) with RTX 4080 Super for this game. On my 3070 the game is horrible. Even after looking at this Video I am not sure what settings is the best. Will be playing at 1440p . This game got to be the most demanding in terms of GPU. I want 60 FPS, hopefully I will get it with high settings at 1440p. My wife plays on a Legion Tower 5 Gen 8 (AMD) with RTX 4070 Ti and she is around 50 FPS at 1440p with high settings.

Very poorly optimised. That frame time graph is horrendous. The graphics and textures look incredible, though. Hopefully, it becomes well optimised soon.

@@BenchmarkBoy It's not like I was expecting the game to run at 100 FPS at native 4K max settings with RT. The main problem with this game is the inconsistent frame time graph. It's all over the place, which causes a bunch of frame spikes, which leads to a stuttery mess. At native 4K max settings with RT, 30 FPS is what I was roughly expecting from the 4080 Super. The FPS could definitely be better, but that's the sort of performance you will get at native 4K max settings with RT, even in a well optimised game. Like I said, the main problem isn't the amount of FPS. It's the frame spikes and stutters.

They really got to fix this for Ark 2. this is basically a graphics test for the game and ofc a money grab to make ark 2.

@@BenchmarkBoyyep games really needs to get better in gameplay/story and number 1 is performance in my opinion and frame generation shouldn't be used on powerful hardware such as the 4080 super to begin with this is supposed to help lower end cards unfortunately its restricted and the problem with lower end gpus are the vram because basically when vram is maxed out even when you turn frame generation it won't make it any better because it needs to allocate at 1gb to 2 gb vram but it doesn't have any space for memory allocation so it'll make the game perform worse and the reason why we use it is because of how poorly optimized games are like this one which even the fastest gpus can't keep up with it.
