I just read the grease trick on the spacers. Good idea. 😊Great filter, but I'm not crazy about the plastic internal spacers. When your doing your installation, be careful that one of those spacers you put on the 2 bolts didn't slide off into your filter and later get sucked into your throttle body as you tried to line up the other bolt and spacer. I noticed that when tightening my 2nd bolt, the filter started to crush, which meant the spacer had slid off the bolt. I can't imagine if I didn't notice that, and the spacer later got sucked into my throttle body.

The grease definitely helps. As for the plastic spacer, yes could be a bad thing if they end up in the wrong place! Hopefully they won’t cause any damage as they are plastic. You did get lucky you noticed the crushing. Ride safe!

I used a little bearing grease to hold the spacers in place. Put a small dab on the side facing the filter. Worked great!

Is it cleanable like the K & N style? Do you know if it’ll fit my 2019 street glide? I currently have the screamin eagle oval filter as well.

Yes it is cleanable like a K&N air filter but way easier. Spray with degreaser, let soak about 15 minutes, rinse with warm water, and let dry. Have a video explaining this on Saturday morning come back and check it out.

So I just got one of these for my 2022 Street Glide Special. Stupid question....Do I need to oil this filter whenever I clean it? I've used K&N filters in the past on all kinds of applications and I always had to oil them after a good thorough washing. Seems like this info should be on the installation paperwork. At least for dumb a$$e$ like me!!! LOL. Thanks

I've had mine installed on my 114 CI for several months now> yes, easy to install yourself, but. Shipping is slow and you need a tracking app to track your package. They have finally come out with a rain sock to fit it and I just got it installed (AGAIN SLOW SHIPPING), the cost with shipping is just over $50!! A quality product but a little pricey

Interesting I got mine in about three days when it was in stock. I found a rain sock on amazon that worked and it was here next day. I believe Harley sells theirs that you have to oil at every cleaning for 90. I think this is the best buy as you only have to clean/rinse/dry and reuse. One time fee!

Just plug and play, this type of filter is already considered high flow from Harley-Davidson . So no need to tune the system.

I’m not sure if it fits your model. I would check J and P cycles or Revzilla to see if it fits. Most oil bypass solutions are DIY but DK Customs may have a solution that could work.

I had to look up the Fuel Moto one as I had never seen it. To me the Fuel one looks taller than the Arlen Ness but not sure. I’m betting that they both have the same benefits. I would get the one you can get as the Arlen Ness one is always out of stock.

Did you notice any difference in performance or sound? Do you have to tune the motorcycle?

I honestly don’t know if there was a performance gain but it sure felt like it. More air means more power so I’m assuming a slight gain. You can hear the air intake better. The biggest benefit was not having to keep buying air cleaners every time. No tune required to install as it already has a “high flow” air cleaner from factory.

When I first installed, I didn’t get an updated tune. The bike ran up to 20 degrees hotter according to my powervision. Yes, you need to retune when adding 20% more air.

Actually lower than recommended specs. I’ve seen to many people not use loctite and lose parts, just being cautious.

Not overkill , it’s a good habit on air cleaner screws. Less likely to happen with this setup, but I had a screw come loose on a older S&S air cleaner. Guess where the screw ended up ? Ruined my day and a couple grand in engine damage. I do have a bit of concern regarding these plastic spacers though. Anything that can break inside the air cleaner could end up in your engine.

The following is what I copied from the Arlen Ness website in the product description for the M8 oval filter: "Each filter is made from high-flow black pre-oiled cotton media wrapped in a stainless-steel jacket for optimum airflow with a unique look." According to the website the M8 oval air filter is pre-oiled and its media is cotton. I plan on re-oiling mine with black oil available from K&N.

@@DoubleDMoto The cleaner appears to be an all in one product as it comes in clear and red and is described as a cleaner/oil kit. Sounds like the "CLP" of air filter recharge kits. Nevertheless, I liked your video and I still plan on re-oiling mine as if it were a K&N filter since it came pre-oiled in the beginning. Thanks for responding.
