I have never played, but now at the Steam sale there is a very attractive price. I think the game deserves attention.

Arma 3 will die the day Arma 4 comes out and becomes a stable game. But it's death will be slow, as Arma 4 gets more and more mods and players, just like it happened to Arma 2.

I 'discovered' ARMA 3 just under a year ago. In fact, I bought a PC just for that game. I rarely play anything else now and I've been gaming since the 80's! An OUTSTANDING game which I would, without hesitation, recommend especially if you get involved in a good clan in multi-player. Bring on ARMA 4 BI. I, for one, am already in..! 👍🏼 I should also mention, I'm a career Army Veteran and have used VBS - the BI ARMA military equivalent.

Such an amazing game, you can literally make ANY scenario you want and it has an extreme amount of realism. It's a masterpiece.

This game will have a special place in my heart with all the times I spent on the editor, whether it's playing Vietnam war scenarios to halo and fallout, I'll never forget it, eventually I had to stop playing it because the updates got to a point where my pc can't handle anymore, shame but I guess 2000+ hrs played is quite enough, now I decided to check out the predecessor ARMA 2 and love it just as well. I'm glad to see this serious succeed. If you love ARMA 3 but are limited to performance nowadays I suggest checking out ARMA 2, has a good amount of mods not a much as 3 but it's just as fun and runs well on even a low pc.

I have just over 900 hours played in this game and I'm STILL learning new things. You are constantly learning and seeing new things with this game and that's what I love about it. No matter how much you work on learning one aspect of the game, you will always see something new. I've gone from learning to take on a marksman role, to a lone wolf, to now piloting planes specializing in CAS. I'm just now getting my feet wet in learning to fly helicopters, but if you love a challenge then this game is for you! Not as basic as a Call of Duty or Battlefield, but not as advanced as a game like DCS World. The modding community is spectacular and most creators are devoted to continue working on their mods. I cannot recommend this game enough!

It's a little clunky and laggy, but with a limitless pandora's box editor kinda like Warcraft 3's editor was, combine that with mods it's crazy all the stuff you can do with it

Arma's success depends not on what gameplay the developers have made but on the developers making a platform for the players to make their own gameplay. It's a microsm of a successful market economy

I've been playing this game since its inception. From the clunky start this game has grown into one of the best end user games thats ever been made. Through modding and dedicated end user, this game has kept pace and still outlives most of the newer games that have come and gone. The learning curve exists for a reason (embrace the suck!) The milsim community who have eagerly taken this to where it is today, have given life where Bohemia Interactive stopped. This continues to be "THE" game for former and active duty military, and all milsim players alike. The international community who play this game even today give it the true feeling of NATO and true Global community fighting together. I highly recommend anyone looking for a lifelong place to hang your weapon belt to give Arma and all its DLC's a run for its money. If you are looking for anything like the real deal, this is truley your squads place to be. Hooah!

I run my own Arma Milsim like he said in the Video and have been playing Arma 2 and Arma 3 for 10+ years. In Arma 3 alone I have almost 6000 Hours. A lot of what he said is true about the learning curve and about the game in general. I would recommend anyone even thinking about getting it to get it.

One of the best games of all time. I hope Arma 4 works out some of the performance issues, but even still Arma 3 is unlike pretty much anything else out there.

Theres no betrer"milsim" shooter than arma 3. I mostly play king of the hill or KOTH- sometimes i play "terrorist hunt" in custom maps with all kinds of mods in the very fun scenario editor mode. Great game but be warned once youve learned all the intesne controlls other games like insurgency or similar mil style shoots feels so unintuitive and clunky..... I think thatswhy this game is so popular

I picked it up for just 7 euros on steam sales. Best game i've ever bought for under 10 euros. Especially with mods and the mission editor.

Played this for a few hundred hours when it first released, only played on PvE servers but it was fun wearing a diving suit with RPG shooting at vehicles in the mountains.

Honestly, after almost 2,5k hours in Arma 3, the horrible performance of the game and its horrible lack of stability in online play ended up becoming tiring. The frustration was so common I've been left with only some good memories amongst every single mishap.

I have 3600+ hours in Arma 3. I would say after 2500 hours you are a good player.

I have 3,700 hours in Arma. My next closest game is Skyrim with 80-something. Yes, bring on Arma 4 BI, bring it.

I got one of the best (new gen) Graphics card you can by for a laptop (GeForce). You know i see what you mean't by saying "You dont have to make the mistake of buying a 1000$+ Graphics card". To me its never a mistake, even though you can run Arma 3 on ultra really easily 120 FPS. Mine is a Ultra HD 240 Hz screen with a 4K add-on so i can easily run any modern game at 144+ FPS without a drop. But who needs that. Arma can run on almost any decent PC. But yeah, cant ever go wrong buying a bomb card, youll be able to game on almost anything much better than any console will ever offer you. Also PC modding and training has made the PC MUCH superior to any crappy console youd pay 800$ for hahaha.. Just my 2 cents brother! Well made video by the way eh! Cheers man! Thanks! Im heading towards 4000h of playtime in Arma. The only thing that keeps it alive are mods tbh. And our milsim and fun communitys. Arma 3 will keep this way for a long time. Its buggy yes and has a high skill ceiling. You cant know everything in this game trust me. Even my buddies with close to ten thousand hours of playtime still dont know everything. But still its the most realistic simulator for warfare that i know (fuck squad and anything else tbh). Arma 3 with Ace is the best you can get and the experience is something i dont want to miss.

You should try EUTW gamemode, its pretty good. 30vs30 PVP with credits system, you can buy gear, vehicules, etc... . the game last for a few hours until one team has captured all the objective.

Arma 3 is hard game. But still the best from all war game.. because he has eden editor.. we can create mission .. i am play arma 3 since 2015 .. i am never uninstall from my pc..

I would challenge your advice of telling new players to join a milsim unit. In my years of playing arma2/3 I've found those to be the most toxic parts of the community. From 12 year olds making you call them sir to heading to attend every single op or training otherwise you'll get kicked out. A better option i would suggest is to find a small group of personal friends to play with and learn the ropes from each other.

I love Arma 3 and have almost a 1,000 hours, but what sucks is that my game won’t start up, only showing a black screen. Maybe it will get fixed in the future, but til then, I will have to watch videos.

If we use Arma 1 and Arma 2 as examples, the only thing that kills Arma 3 is Arma 4.

I find an easier experience of arma is the public zeus/semi-real groups rather than milsim. most strict i've seen a semi-real is _stick to this uniform_ or _don't go into these slots (liberation/antistasi). As for milsim, being restricted to act like a [insert american army] group with weapons, armor, uniforms and vehicles is an incredibly niche topic.

It seems that you completely forgot about Zeus and the Eden Editor. Of all my thousand hours of playing ARMA 3, most of them have been messing around and making scenarios in the editor and Zeus. There is basically no other military simulator that gives you so much freedom. Not Battlefield, not Squad, not even Operation Flashpoint.

Buy it and get it with apex dlc. Play campaign to learn everything about the game and then think about multiplayer. The community is the nicest I’ve met. Zeus is a good mode to start with.

I have high hopes for Arma 4 and hope to see it more modern-day based. I remember when everyone instantly fled from Arma 2 to Arma 3 and DayZ SA. I very much likely hope to see better terrain and so on than what Arma 3 had, right now Squad is giving Arma 3 a fair run for its money seeing as the graphics and combat-style n so on is a lot better

I have 1500 hours playing this in multiplayer but usually stick to the same 3 servers that have an active clan participation, upkeep and decent A.I. opponents under the "CO-OP" game type and sometimes "Zeus". There are a small bunch of server and game types. The most active game types are "King of The Hill" that play too much like COD sometimes but I'm Biased against COD. There are more game types like "Sandbox", "Exile" that start you off with basically nothing, a vast expanse of terrain yet can be tedious and sometimes have little reward for effort. Despite my preference for certain clique of servers, I recommend this game and the DLC's, and tolerable single player story/campaign. There is a big Knowledge base, tutorials on KZfaq, fun land and air vehicles, a decent Editor to make your own playable games, and the ability to make your own public or private server to enjoy with your friends. A big plus are the Mods available for this game that add more realism or modern real equipment and vehicles.

I've watched many videos and streams with Arma 3 and I'm interested, only problem is i don't know what PC to get, it's a game that I'm really intrigued by and willing to spend those many hours learning the basics. I'm more interested in the Zeus aspect as I love creating maps, obviously you can bed the landscape like in Far Cry but some of the operations people make are amazing and would love to do that one day.

It's weird. I bought this game for $60 back in 2013 and literally never played it... I had to actually think hard about it because I only had $100 for games and it was during the Christmas sale on Steam I think. Kind of funny really. I think I somehow convinced myself that i'd play the DayZ mod (Standalone was and still is shit sadly) for it and Wasteland but I didn't. I'm not even sure I ever joined a server yet actually.

You know those epic badass scenes that you see in movies that make you go dman thats badass well all that in movies is scripted while in Arma 3 those scenarios are random and completely depand on how the scenario is being played out so yeah you will jave those really epic moments that raise the hair on your ball sacks 😂

So, my experience with ArmA was pretty straightforward : I didn't really mind the poor optimisation or the toxicity of the community, hell, even the mod-making process is pretty easy to boil down depending on the complexity of what you're trying to do. Where ArmA falters, IMHO, is the dedicated server maintenance. Unless you're using a server that has its own control panel for loading mods and files, managing dedicated servers is a pain in the ass and it's not cheap either, I sunk a total of almost £200 into a single dedicated server only for it to constantly break due to inconsistencies with mods or just poor server management in general since you can buy both Linux AND Windows servers but there's very little to accommodate you with the process of setting up either for A3. In the end my provider reset my entire server and wiped all my mods because I missed a £50 monthly payment by 5 hours, it was a monumental waste of my time even bothering. TL:DR the game is good but if you're going to get into running a community and by extension a server, get learning on how to manage them as autonomously as you can.

I like the communication-heavy gameplay of Battlefield 2, so I've been having a great time with Hell Let Loose in the last month or so. Arma's mod variety sounds very attractive. Will I get the same sort of coordination-based gameplay in Arma 3? I got it in a bundle, so this is more a question of whether I should install it and spend the hours learning the game and configuring it. As far as performance goes, I have a Ryzen 7 2700X and an RX 570 8gb, and 16g of RAM. I've heard that Arma is only single-threaded. Will a Ryzen 7 like this be able to handle the game well? SystemRequirementsLab says I can run the game well, but I don't think that site can take the mountains of mods I'll probably be installing into account.

Still not optimized, it feels lot of the times that Bohemia using this Sim to test things for they Pro-MilSim VBS or watching what mod makers bring out and than sell the same thing in they VBS for lot of money (yep it sounds like they grab other people work)
