Simple test for my upcoming Javelin mod for ARMA Reforger.
Features:
- custom missile guidance
- simple FLIR implementation
- HQ model

I worked with Javelin's during my military service. I noticed that the locking onto the target function is a bit innacurate. You normally minimize the square to where it fits around the upper portion of the vehicle. It is not that wide.

I do know this, but I also need to make it available for console users as well. This approach would require adding more keybinds for interaction with CLU itself, and maintaining different versions for PC and Xbox isn't feasible for me. Maybe at some point I'll try doing it proper way but for now I want to release it so people can play with it. Nevertheless, thank you for your insight :) Ps. I'll reduce the size of the bracket

I think that or I hope that with this mod other people will use the lock on system for other missile systems like manpads and stingers for the new attack helicopters and possible tanks in the future so thank you for the javelin and lock on system!

@@czesiek77PL a way you could deal with it, maybe have a function where when you toggle a button you can use a joystick to change the circumference

it does, they get full engine asset access rather than just scripting or the previous kinda locked down arma 3 tools.

I think one of the reason they released reforger is for the modders.

This's spectacular been following the arma series since 2013 from arma 3 alpha and seeing the accomplishment in this mod makes me feel so happy. It's very nice to see this level of detail, congratulations on the mod. Can't wait to see the power of the engine in the future with arma 4

It's been a while since I've had my hands on a. Javelin but I remember there being silicon cups similar to nvgs to stop from glare, but to be fair a I did see a a few without them

0:33 initial rocket mode fire mismatch the tube and its actually much more bigger. The rocket engine and its flight is very good one.

Nice. In ArmA3 I tried to make the launcher tube into a magazine containing a rocket. It did not work. The game engine did literally not support a rocket magazine. So the only work around was instead when you fired, *the whole tube just disappeared* and a rocket flew away.

While not as effective as top down attacks, do you plan on making the direct attack mode work as well? It's a neat feature I've always liked about the javelin and most games only show off the top down mode.

I feel like they're gonna do good for the base weapons system like Anti tank/Anti air in Arma 4, in the end the modding community is what makes Arma games good fun and most importantly the replayability. that's how Arma 3 stayed strong for a decade even with the unstable engine it runs on lol (from 70 fps to 30 and repeat)

Mostly correct. Just the target bracketing is not really there, which is ok.

Updaty były i są nadal, ale kontentu niestety niewiele. Modderzy dodają co mogą i to bardziej taka platforma do przyuczenia się silnika dla nas, żeby dla Army 4 można było łatwiej przejąć, zobaczyc jakie są możliwości itd

I really wanna play Arma… but my Xbox One broke. But my PC works. It is a laptop with 12gb of Memory. If I play totally war rome with Shadows and Shaders and shit. It is ungodly laggy even with Smaller units. Don’t get me started with Alexander’s. Point is. Would Arma 2 be worse then those? Or should I be good.

Can't do that right now since we have no access to render passes. Even though the access to core engine stuff seems wonder than previous Arma, we still have to rely on what is provided to us via enforce script

That brackets you see around the target should be minimized to target's height and length. Both parameters adjusts separately. Than you confirm target with cross, also adjusts manually.

I'm starting to think Arma devs released reforger so they could wait for modders to build a good chunk of the game and then just rehash the assets modders already built and slap an Arma 4 logo on the cover.

As much as I understand your cynicism towards B.I. and their intentions with Reforger, I don't agree. When you pay for Arma 4, you'll be paying for the campaign and assets that go with it. it'll all be Original work from the Arma devs along with a new map and a upgraded Enfusion build and more. We want the modding community to push the limits of the Enfusion engine in Reforger which helps the devs build a stabler game for a better day-one experience.

Aiming at the target happened too quickly. It doesn’t happen like that. This is not TOW-2 and not Kornet-M.

Amazing… you have any idea of when this will be released? TheSpaceStrider just out out the BMP-3 mod and this would be a great thing to pair into the game to counter the new mod vehicles.
