Only just found this, and tbh it's pretty damn sad that the first thing most people want to write in the comments is their political opinion, rather than appreciating the high-quality cinematic that FWG likely spent a heck of a long time producing for our enjoyment. This is one of my favorite cinematic videos of my ArmA 3 video creations. I tried to make it as accurate and realistic as possible, using the best and the most accurate mods made for ArmA 3. The First Chechen War is one of my favorite campaigns after WW2 and Vietnam era. Unfortunately, this war resulted in terrible losses to the Chechen civilian population, because of the heavy bombing campaign that Russian forces made in Grozny. Feel free to leave a comment about anything you want to discuss. Also I would like to know if you did like my video and if you want an other one like this. Thanks for watching !!!

It is very very difficult to make a full movie, because of the extremely slow uploading speed on youtube... For example, a 5 minutes video takes 8 - 12 hours to upload on youtube... Imagine that we have an 1 hour video that we want to upload... It will need daaaaaaaaaaaaaaaays... But I can do something else. I can make parts like series, with small videos like this... What's your opinion about this ???

+Flawless War Gamer Hello, since you are interested in the chechen wars, let me explain you in a nutshell what happent. -Yeltsin made a coup d'etat on the communist regime in Moscow and took power and disbanded the Soviet Union, telling its members to "take as much freedom as they can". Since the Soviet Union had been disbanded, Ichkeriya was founded the same way as many other former soviet states became independent. -Northern Caucasus, especially Chechnya, is a strategic position which has lots of oil and is a strategic geological position to access the caucasus and it relies Russia to the east. For instance, in WW2, most oil reserves for soviet forces were from Chechnya. As a result, Yeltsin attempted to overthrow the independent Ichkeriyan regime by supporting pro-russian Chechens with troops, tanks, and weapons (without being officially involved in it), and these pro-russian forces attempted a coup d'etat on Dudaev; and they were utterly crushed. -Dudaev then publicly executed Chechen pro-russian forces that attempted to overthrow his regime; and threatened to do the same to the russian forces that belonged in that force if Yeltsin kept denying involvement in this attempted coup d'Etat. Yeltsin caved in and ordered Chechens to release Russian hostages, disarm all Chechen forces, and surrender to the Russian government lest they use force. -Dudaev accepted to release Russian hostages, refused to disarm and refused to surrender his regime to the Russian forces; and said that Chechens did not wish for war, but that if Russians decide to invade, the Chechens would fight to the death. -Russians launched a full-scale invasion in December 1994, calling the Ichkeriyan regime a bunch of bandits that the Chechen population hates and that they will restore order and "liberate" the Chechens who allegedly hate Dudaev. -Which led to the Battle of Grozny that you have showed, which is the last battle where Ichkeriyan forces retreated to the Presidential Palace, defeated the Russian forces, and escaped from Grozny to reorganize themselves. -Somewhere in that timeline, Dudaev was assassinated by a Russian Predator while he was talking of peace talks with Russian officials, he was tracked down because he talked for a lot of time, thinking Russians had honor left and wouldn't kill him while he was talking about peace talks. He was wrong. -Despite heavy casualties, Russians declared victory after taking Grozny. -Chechens mounted a counter-attack, retook the city, completely surrounded Russian forces that were on the brink of anhilation, and the Russians begged for a cease-fire and for peace talks. -The Chechen forces, despite being able to completely annhilate Russian forces, accepted the cease-fire and the peace talks were signed. Russians agreed to have peace and accepted to withdraw troops from Chechnya. Chechens never wished for war against Russians, and were happy when peace talks were signed. But the Russians had a humiliating defeat, and would surely take revenge. -Which they did, in 1999, after breaking the peace talks, mounted a second invasion of Chechnya. The Ichkeriyan forces had a new rising power called Wahabis that were very few in the 1st Chechen war that became a larger force by 1999 due to the horrible actions Russians took, which radicalized some Chechen people whose families were butchered. Wahabis launched an alleged invasion of Dagestan, whose troops consisted of Chechen and Dagestani extremists, who clashed with Dagestani police forces and a few russian soldiers. Russia didn't intervene although it had troops stationed nearby. Ichkeriyan government proposed Russia to cooperate in subduing these wahabis, but Russians refused. -Russia then had a few moscow bombings, that they blamed on Chechnya. -After laying the groundwork for propaganda and motivating their troops and having a pretense to break the peace treaty, they launched another full-scale invasion of Chechnya. -Chechen forces, split among moderates, extremists, and pro-russians, then lost the 2nd Chechen war; with pro-russian forces siding with Russians prefering Russian occupation to wahabi occupation; and of course being offered a generous amount of money and positions of power once they win. There are investigations and criticism of Russia, with some people after investigation finding out the moscow bombings were done by the Russian FSB, and that the Dagestani invasion was planned with Russia to have an excuse to invade Chechnya again. You can look into them. In other terms, the Chechen conflict is a very difficult one. But one thing is certain, the Chechens kicked Russians out, and not for the first time, as a study of Chechen history will show you. Chechens are peaceful people who have never invaded any country whatsoever. They resisted against the Mongols first, and against the Russians next. Neither the Mongols nor the Russians have managed to break their willpower, and Chechens are for that reason proud of their heritage. All their neighbors love them, and respect them. Chechens have historically also given asylum to Jews and other people and given them political rights, with each minority being represented by their own clan. Their historical behavior with strangers is that a visitor must be treated like family. Poets worldwide spoke very fondly of Chechens in all times. The Russian government has for a long time tried to brand them as bandits and now as a terrorists. Any serious investigation of their history will prove otherwise. Chechens have fought with Soviet Russians in 1917 against the Russian Empire, and the Communists promised them independence. A promise they did not keep when they won. Chechens have fought with Soviet Russians in 1939-1945, many of them were decorated as Soviet heroes; and yet Stalin and the KGB director ordered their families to be deported to Kazakhstan, 2/3 of whom died during deportation. They were put into trains, without food or proper clothing for 3 days and nights. When the Chechens who served in Soviet Union returned from war against the Nazis, they found out that their entire families were deported and killed by the country they fought for. Throughout these Chechen wars, Chechens have washed away all the injustice Russians commited against them and this time it was Russians who were humiliated. 6000-8000 Chechens at their peak defeated an army of 80 000-120 000 Russian invaders. 900 Chechens took Grozny back from 20 000 Russian occupants. Blood has been spilled on both sides, but only Chechens have kept their honor. No Russian alive is proud of the Chechen wars. First because they were humiliated, second because they know they were the aggressor.

@@sclice8680Terrible things happen when the government does not support the government loyal to it. Russian politicians sponsored Dudaev not only with information, but also with weapons. Listen to what the representatives of the opposition anti-Dudaev movement said, they were not noticed until the last moment. For example, an interview with Bislan Gantemirov, the former head of the National Guard, General Dudaev, the former commander-in-chief of the Armed Forces of the anti-Dudaev opposition and the former mayor of Grozny. That's what he said: "The fighting in Chechnya began much earlier than the entry of federal troops - by that time there was a fierce civil war in Chechnya. Moreover, money from Russia has already gone to both the fighting sides, both the Dudaev regime and the opposition. At the same time, the opposition began to receive financial support much later than Dudayev's regime. Russia did not notice the opposition for a long time, did not want to deal with it."

Chechen Kavkaz what? Half, they came in with 60,000 men and lost around 2,000 men. So they lost less than 5% of their fighting force. While the Chechens lost nearly double that. Even then this was the disorganized russian army with poor leadership and full of conscripts.

Modern, professional armies don't lose 1.6k men in a single battle against separatists. Oh wait, those are modern and professional, never mind. Edit: To put it into perspective, the USMC, during the 2nd battle of Fallujah, one of the biggest urban battles in modern history, suffered 95 deaths and 560 injuries. It really highlights the problems of the Russian armed forces.

@AngryChekist 6 жыл бұрын
The video is not bad, but there is always one "but". Fans of Chechen fighters, for some reason, forget that the same militants cut, robbed, raped and killed civilians, often in the most cruel ways. They forget about the real "ethnic cleansing", not only of the Russian-speaking population, but of other nationalities living on the territories of the former Chechen-Ingush SSR. They forget about kidnapping people for the sake of ransom, they forget about the slave trade. About radical Islamism, in the end, too, forget. They forget about the massacre in Budionovsk and Pervomaysk, about the seizure of the ferry Avrasiya, about the terrorist attacks in Moscow, Kizlyar, Buinaksk and other cities. They forget about "Nord-Ost" and "Beslan". What it is? Why do politicians and special services in the West, like rapists and murderers, call them "Opposition" and "fighters for freedom"? What is it, if not double standards? They are ready to close their eyes, even to the abductions and murders of their fellow citizens and compatriots, such as the death of the international red cross group, on December 17, 1996 in the hospital of the village of Novye Atagi, or the kidnapping and killing of Britannic engineers in December 1998. I'll even call them by name: Stanley Shaw, Rudolph Petchi, Peter Kennedy and Darren Hickey. They were also forgotten, allowing some militants to take refuge in the territories of Great Britain, having thoroughly gained political asylum. Also in the Syrian Arab Republic, they accuse Assad and the Russian Federation, but in fact, the very alleged "opposition" that is guilty of working closely with IGIL and other terrorists is to blame. I'm already silent about the provocations of the "White Helmets" and other episodes. However, the West has long reaped the fruits of its hypocrisy, acts of terrorism in Belgium, France, and in the same Britain, terrorist attacks in the United States. I'm sorry of course, but I already had plenty of boiling from all this, somebody just had to show up.

This video is looking cool in technical sense. But I am a little bit concerned about "good" and "bad" division in your comments. Because, if you say that guys are good only because they won, then looking forward to see your videos about: - civil war inside independent Ichkeria (which was before first Chechen war)(choose which side was the good and bad youself); - ethnic cleansing by good radicals since 1990 in Chechnya and Ichkeria (before first Chechen war). By the way, good radicals had won that too! Amazing, isn't it? - how cool it be to be an ISIS rebel in Syria (almost won, still fighting, who knows, maybe they will be the good guys too?) - second Chechen war (which had been started, because the good radicals from independent Ichkeria had started to kidnap russian citizens from neighborhood regions. ); Interesting position of Chechens here: many of you saying "we won the first war". I thought, that Chechens won in the second Chechen war(alongside with russians and other nations), which were against radical islamists. I thought, that the both Chechen wars was tragedy for Chechens and Russians and the cause was the weakness of the central goverment, which was not paying attention to radical islamists, which had started to influence young minds in Chechnya. Had I missed something? Your comments saying, that it is still exists a rule "try not to kill/slave people, unless they had another religion". If it still true, then, please, answer me, why had you betrayed your believes?

At first, thank you for telling me that this video has a good technique. At second, Have you checked that I didn't talk about good and bad guys by myself but I have been asked for an answer about who is the bad and the good ??? Check their channels and you will see that they are kids. If you were to my situation, were you going to analytically explain to every kid what happened in Chechnya and who is the bad or the good ??? If yes then you can do it for me as a favor. OK I don't want to be harsh, but If you want to talk realistically then I will talk realistically. Is it true that the governments are pushing their peoples to fight each other in a case to earn wealth ??? Is it true that hundreds of thousands of people are being killed in every war and as a result the governments are getting richer and stronger ??? Will ever Putin or Trump die in a battle ??? Will ever Assad die in battle ??? Is there a case that the real creators of the terrorist organizations will be punished ??? Do you think that Osama was the true Al Qaeda leader or ISIS is a real extremist organization and not a western creation to enslave some of the eastern nations like Syria ??? So, as you see I know who is the bad guy and who is the good, but kiddos don't. Have in mind that this channel is a gaming channel and not a propagandist one, so let it go man. There is not a reason to fight each other inside here and for me the true bad guy is each government of each country. Do you really think that anybody who comes here can explain to an eight years old child what the fuck is happening about the humanity's wars ??? So, let's keep this channel as a gaming channel and let's not turn it into a channel of controversy !!!This is just a video showing the first Chechen war and I am the creator of it and nothing else.
@vatne4eg
@vatne4eg 6 жыл бұрын
I thought, that is just a gaming video, until I had read your comments: "The Heroes of the video are the Chechen rebels, so they are the "good" guys." and "So, the historical fact is that Russians started the war and they lost him as well". It made me think, that you see the good side there. I haven't seen your comments like "the bad guys are one, who had sponsored this war and gave orders and the good guys are those, who in the video, fighting each other" or "there is no good nor bad guys, there is a fight on the video". That is why I have decided to write about some other facts, that you can find interesting, that can make someones' white-black-colored-world to be a little bit grayed-colored instead. And yes, I agree with your comments about dirty games of politicians. And I guess, I woudn't leave comment like previous one if your comment was not so unconditional. (And to be honest, I was really surprized by the opinion of Chechens, maybe you are right - maybe they are just a kids). And anyway. if not to mention any political agenda, you have done a great job :)

Once again thank you for your positive comment about my work. I agree with you. There is nothing wrong about your words but I truly don't have the courage to explain to all these kiddos asking me who is the good or bad. Imagine that I have to answer about 20 question a day...!!! Maybe I gave them the wrong answer trying to avoid the big conversations about who, when etc, but even if I gave them the right answer, they would not understand what I was talking about. Also, no one of the big guys are going to ask me who is the good one because they know, that in a war condition no one is good or bad and the human rights are going straight to hell. For me the war is the proof that the human race has failed. So, let's keep the war in the video games. Greetings !!!

@@gemballa771 1. so had they got their freedom? Or is war still going on? Please, define what is freedom, who tried to took it and are Chechens free now? 2. How do you qualify a Kremlin propogandist? Probably, I can be defined as stupid, as I want to believe, that both Chechen wars was not about "russians vs chechens", but "federals vs radical islamists". Is it propoganda? If I am wrong, then what had been changed? 3. Are you telling me, that no russians had been killed? In what cases? In both Chechen wars? 4. I haven't said, that there are nations, in which all persons are extremists, because I don't think so. 5. Which country Chechens need? 6. Chechnya had independence from Russia for a 2 years. Can you tell me was Ichkeria a good place to live? Was it really independent from Russia? Was it like "we are independent now, screw Russia, we are living ourselves now: we got everything we need without having to deal with Russia"? There were no kidnaps of russian citizens, no fake orders from Chechen Central Bank to withdraw huge amounts of money, which Russian's Central Bank was not able to verify due to not having any political control? I am not a witness of any kind, I just read some stuff here and there, so if you tell how it was in reality, it will be good to know. 7. Anyway, as far as I know, Chechnya was not the only Republic of USSR, that wanted to get an independence. What was the difference between Ukraine and Chechnya in this context? As far as I know, there was a conflict between pro-russian goverment and those, who wanted an independence inside Chechnya. And, surprisingly, Russia decided to support pro-russian side of conflict. Russia was not able to play "there are deaths of pro-russian people in this conflict! we have to protect and support them" in Ukraine at that time. (And surprise, now it plays this card in Ukraine). Can the victims of this conflict be counted as an answer to a question #3 or they don't count, as they weren't russians? 8. Was there Chechens, that haven't wanted an independence from Russia? How big such group was? Was it 2-3 people from all Chechens or 10%,20%,30% of population? What had happend to them? Had they right to count on protection from Russia in case of conflict? Had Russia the right to protect them? 9. Who was a benificiar of all those conflicts at the end? Anyway, as I said before, it is hard to analyze this conflict from black-white point of view, as this position will popup too many controversy to me. Or maybe I am just not care too much about that. But I do think, that no regular russian and chechen people were beneficiars of those conflicts.

My only critique is that didn't mention that Grozny was later recaptured by Russian forces with the help of Chechen rebel commanders who switched sides in exchange for being rich.
