This video will show the whole chronology of the two Chechen Wars on the map, every day. In addition, for ease of understanding, the collapse of the Soviet Union, the Chechen Civil War and the Interwar Period will be shown too
The Two Chechen wars are a whole series of conflicts between the Russian Federation and the Chechen Republic Ichkeria. In 1991 after the fall of the Soviet Union former general Dzhokhar Dudayev declared independence of Chechnya. The separatists spent three years preparing for a possible war with Russia. In 1994 Yeltsin decided to send troops into Chechnya and Russian army captured Grozny. But The First Chechen War ended for Russia unsuccessfully. The Second Chechen War began in 1999 with invasion of the Chechen fighters in Dagestan. By 2000, Russia gained control of the whole territory of Chechnya. In 2009 the war officially ended. During the Second Chechen War three persons were the President of Russia (Yeltsin, Putin, Medvedev).

@@adnan_honest_jihadist5775 After the fall of USSR, Chechnya kind of declared independence and many non-Chechen ethnicities (Armenians, Dagestanis, Russians, Turks, etc.) left the republic because there's some reported violence there and Yeltsin intervened. So it's probably done for a bad reason.

You dont need to make this style of map to get the idea. I have made a video of how to pronounce the names of my countries cities since I was anoyed by geography now, the maps arent even moving I just highlight the city Im naming and god did it take long I can imagine how long a video like this takes. Eddit: BTW I did it with pain and it took me 100 or so frames. I wont give you link the video is awful, but if you do want to know than just search how to pronounce the city name of Latvija, the pronounciations are right its just the visuals that are awful.

There are some mistakes in regards to this video. For example, one that I've noticed is the temporary recapture of Oyskhara by the rebels in November 1999 during the Second Chechen War is not shown. But these things happen. Other than that, the dedication you have put into this is outstanding. Considering it is hard to find much information about the pro-Russian uprisings in Chechnya prior to the first war or the Islamist Insurgency during the Interwar Period, I applaud your efforts.

Don't know about "Chechen civilians died from Russian cleansing", but the population of Chechnya at the break up of the Soviet Union was 500k Chechens and 250k Russians, after the 90s there are practically no Russians left in Chechnya. And more than a million Chechens. People were forced to leave, abandoning their property, taken hostage for a ransom or killed.

This is Russian propaganda with zero proof to the "russian ethnic cleansing" claim. Most of these russians were neighbours to chechens and had good relations. Its not like after war starts they suddenly rip each other apart. There were some gangsters and terrorists taking advantage and kidnapping some russians for money but it wasnt common. Most of the Russians fled to the neighboring republics when the war began, that explains the drop in population. You really think Chechens had tools to kill 250k Russians within a year when Russia killed 300k chechens in two wars with advanced weapons.

Nice work! I've got some Ossetian heritage (on my father's side) and yes, his relatives who were living in the Caucasus in the 1990s describe this situation in detail. The place they live was just 80 km away from the battlefields. All these colours on the map are truly more than just colours as one of the commenters wrote here. But may I correct something? First, I really doubt that there were some "green" zones in Chechen lowlands in May-June 1995. I'm sure separatists still controlled the highlands (apart from Shatoy and Vedeno that were taken by Russian troops) by that time, but I really doubt that the road connecting Gudermes and Khasavyurt was under separatists' control. Secondly, there are some English mistakes. "woUnded", for example.

Chechens started etnichal cleanings of Russian and non-Caucasus population after they gained independence. This is why Russia started CTO in 1994. Russia failed to defeat Chechnya, but Chechen Islamists wanted "revenge" and Islamis Caucasus republic. They started civil war in Chechnya to gain power, and invaded republic of Dagestan, where Islamists rised against Russian rule. Islamists were defeated, and Russian forces invaded Chechnya, occupying it. Chechens started terrorist attacks in Russia, but one of their leaders - Ramsan Kadyrov was simply bought by Russian government, and few years later all resistanse cancelled.

I love the quote you used at the beginning of the video, it describes the Chechen as well as not only the Chechen situation at the time in Russia. Great video! Perhaps the only thing you could have mentioned when the terror attack wave began is that it happened after Russia assassinated Dudayev in 1996 and the state of Chechnya then got out of control.
@vhlamingostreamsaudioconte403
@vhlamingostreamsaudioconte403 2 жыл бұрын
This quote do not describe anything cause it's b.s.. Yeah, after collapse of Soviet Union criminality raised, but that happened all over the post-soviet countries. Ethnic cleansing was not carried out on the initiative or instructions of Dudayev - it was the "improvisation" of individuals. This happened because in the conditions of general chaos, the bandits psychopaths raised their heads - Whom should they rob and kill? It's impossible with the Chechens, because in this case you or a member of your family will sooner or later be killed as a blood feud. Thus, the only vulnerable group of the population were non-Chechens. 2) Nobody carried out ethnic cleansing of the Ingush (because they are no different from the Chechens, this is the same nation), and the Tatars (they are Muslims, and Islam prohibits nationalism).

That was a very strange conflict. First thing I noticed were interpolations aka assumptions which I felt a little skeptical about the accuracy of the frontlines. About the map and animation, it was very good. It had good detail including the fact that you put an airplane icon to indicate an airport. The plane animations looked cool too. Then I saw the almost-neverending Chechen Islamist Wahhabi attacks and I was like "when is this gonna end bruh" and a little more surprised when an Islamist group in such an area of tiny population in a country as large as Russia would perform a lot of terrorist attacks far away from Chechnya for almost 20 years....They're crazy Tldr; very good video, learned a lot but the frontlines seem to have many assumptions so I assume a lack of information or simply a mapping style?
