Firearms you might have owned and carried if you'd been armed up with sidearm, rifle, & shotgun in 1988. There were other viable choices, but these would have been chosen by many.

Yours Truly back then...plastic is kinda bad...it is not durable and even now they are. That’s why back then people did not trust plastic even high density polymers. Now the time had change, people use more and more polymer in their weapons to cut down some weight

Wasn't a Catholic Church, or it could have ended up being a mass Mass shooting, or is it a Mass mass shooting? Good thing it didn't happen in Massachusetts, for there would not been an armed church member to stop the massacre.

Yeah, they were quite expensive at the time. Now, I can't even imagine those days that are gone, and the prices now are so reasonable if you look for a bargain. Maybe not a Go To War Gun, but still good enough for most of us. I have a Del-Ton DT Sport with a pencil barrel that will do me just fine. Makes it lighter for these old tired muscles to carry. You should do an “Armed in 2003” Video. Just because it was at the height of the 94 Ban and .40 was the king as far as handguns go. It was a much different gun world back in the late 90’s and early 2000’s. Glock Gen 3’s were fresh on the market and introduced the finger grooves, and at the time had yet to have any real deal competition in the striker fired market

I've watched that part a few times??? How did that happen, it defies physics. It seems he blew the cap off, the bottle didn't tip over, and there's soda spewing from the sides of the bottle also, It proves Hickok is not only a legendary marksman, but a wizard of the 5th dimension also.

I bought my first handgun in 1967 from a guy I was going to school with. It was an Iver Johnson 22 Long Rifle and that was my only weapon until 1975 when I purchases my Ruger Blackhawk 357 Magnum. I waited a few years before I bought anything else. I was divorced in 1973 and pretty much lost everything. I remarried in 1978 and by 1980 I started collecting guns. I had my Ruger Blackhawk, a Remington Nylon 66, a S&W Model 19 2 1/2 inch, a single shot 16 gauge shot gun, and I was on my way to being a collector or so I thought. In 1986 while on a trip out of town my home was broken into and I lost all my guns except the two I had with me, My Ruger Blackhawk and my Iver Johnson 22 LR. It took a couple of more years before I felt like it might be OK to start adding to my gun collection again so I replaced the S&W Model 19 with another one just like the one that was stolen. Next I bought a S&W Model 27 with the 8 3/8 inch barrel, then I bought the Ruger 10/22 Deluxe rifle and a Marlin Model 60 22 LR. By 1988 I had a wish list and over the years it has expanded. I added a gun safe and a home security system and the story continues. My last Christmas Present to myself was a Browning 1911 380 Black Label Medallion Pro 4.25 in barrel.

@@frankatchison2519 There's no squirrel, but the craftsmanship is unbelievable, considering the bluing and the checkering on the wood stock. It might have been different grades, who knows. My dad is notoriously cheap, so he wouldn't have paid for anything extra.

Had a Nazi- F.N. takeover 13 round mag, high power with a stock slot on the back of the grip + tangent rear sight..waa stamped everywhere. The guy I got it from fought the Bulge + He went back in the mid 50's and knew where his buddy stashed it in the hollow of a tree, it was still there. Had a little character rust on the right side of the forward slide. He took it off of a high ranking officer( most carried luger's but not this ss mann) Must've loved that Browning! It was accurate as hell, wish I woul have kept it paid $ 100.00 for it in 1980.

What would I choose? - S&W 686 .357 Magnum ( with boot grips) This was introduced in 1981. - Armalite AR-10 in .308 - Instead of a shotgun I'll choose the Marlin Model 70P Papoose in .22LR. Which was introduced in 1986. Fairly new at the time.

IMHO one can never go wrong with a Mossberg 500 and an AR 15. I still prefer the 1911 and the S&W .357 classic model 19 to the Glock. I don't criticize anyone who likes the Glock. I just prefer other handguns. In all honesty, I'll take an M4 carbine platform over any handgun :) Always a pleasure to see you "get your gun off" regardless of make and model, sir! :)
