The Czech Republic is successfully hunting FOR shells for Ukraine. If one pursues to kill, then one hunts wild animals. If one is in search of something, then one hunts FOR something.

10 years since the referendum in Crimea. Then 93% of the inhabitants of Crimea voted for the return of Crimea to Russia. Crimea became part of Russia 242 years ago. When there was no USA, no Germany, no Czech Republic, no Slovakia, no Romania, there was no Belgium, no Croatia, no Slovenia, no Finland, and even more so there was no Ukraine... And all these countries believe that Crimea should not be Russian. It's funny! Sevastopol in Crimea is the most European city. It is here that German, English, French, Turkish, Italian, Romanian cemeteries are located, where those who once doubted that Crimea was Russian rest. Happy holidays!

Actually the delivery of the first batch of 300.000 shells will begin much much sooner than the few months as said by our minister of foreign affairs Jan Lipavský.. The info was given in that way to misinform Russia and its allies within the EU and NATO, namely Hungary and Slovakia....

U.S. should also be proud to have Allies like Ukraine who answered the US Article 5 call when it was attacked in 2001. Oh wait, Ukraine isn't a NATO member but they still responded and helped anyway. They also lost soldiers fighting with U.S.A. in their war. That must be why the Ukraine aid bill is being _rushed_ through Congress so they can repay them for being such a good Ally and helping USA in their time of need.

So I don't know why the US should be proud of us. We are not their servants. We are about the ninth most populous country in the EU, we have our own sovereign policy, and yes, it is based on the EU and NATO. However, while we only take from the EU, we don't give anything to NATO for a change. We're a bit of a parasite, for my taste.

We appreciate your words:) This job of looking for the shells has been started even before the February 24th of 2022, and it took over 2 years to organize everything.. Major help was of course the election of Petr Pavel as president in March 2023, as he was the NATO military commitees head - the 2nd highest post within NATO right after Stoltenberg..... That gave the selling countries the confidence to proceed with the sale.. First 300.000 shells will be in UA in about 2 weeks, then 500.000 till June and the aditional 700.000 throughout the year...

@@martinabowm1786 Nice to hear☺... Well, regarding dealing with Russia, we have been added to the official "enemies of Russia" list 1 year prior to the war, in 2021, so the list comprised of only 2 countries then - the USA and the Czech republic... After the first sanctions, of course all EU, NATO and countries like Japan, South Korea, Taiwan, New Zealand, Australia etc. have been added to this list... But personally, I'm very proud of being the first EU country on the list:)... We have provided UA the first tanks in March 2022, first attack helicopters, MLRS systems, howitzers and so on and have even taken the most refugees per capita in the EU - 594.000 by a population of 10,5 million... No idea if you're from Germany, based on your name, but if not, let me explain our position shortly: We have gained independence in 1918 as Czechoslovakia after the collapse of Austria-Hungary empire after the WWI - we became the 10th largest economy at the time, but then in 1938 we have been "sold" to Nazi Germany by our allies Great Britain and France in order to avoid war... 1 year later the WWII started.. After the "liberation" of Czechoslovakia by the USSR in 1945 (no liberation, as we have got rid of the Nazis during the uprising few days prior), a coup happened in 1948 and the tyranical USSR regime lasted till 1989 Velvet revolution... But there was a period in 1968 called the "Prague spring", where we have got rid of censorship, travel bans etc. etc., but that was stopped by the USSR invasion on 21st of August 1968... It was the largest military operation in Europe after WWII, comprising of 500.000 men, 6000 tanks, 1500 fighter planes etc... And that's a very short summary of our history of hate towards Russia and its imperial ambitions... Btw. you can find many videos of the invasion here on KZfaq.. And the last, let me invite you to Prague, which has been named the worlds most gorgeous city in 2021 by a US travel magazine - and see, that they were correct:)

A couple of years ago, i had the opportunity to visit The Museum of Communism in (beautiful!) Prague. Everyone should visit this museum. It’s in the square across the street from the concert hall beside the Powder Tower. Under the years of Russian oppression, you were forced to believe the continual stream of propaganda and lies the government was feeding you. Otherwise, you would suffer dire consequences. The Czechs never wanted the Kremlin running their affairs and imposing their leaders any more than the Ukrainians do. We must never waver in our support for the brave Ukrainian people. I also visited the Alej Obětí Totality - Alley of Victims of Totalitarianism just across the street from the Újezd tram stop at the bottom of Petřin hill. A series of statues there depicts the dissolution of the human spirit under authoritarian rule. Plaques commemorate how many people were imprisoned and executed by the Soviets, and how many Czechs fled the country in order to escape such a fate. During the celebration of the National Day on November 17, I met an elderly man pushing his invalid wife in a wheelchair near the Národní Třída tram stop. A large area on the sidewalk was covered with flowers, candles and ribbons. The old gentleman told me that he was an historian who had lived through that period, and he had come to pay his respects. He kicked his right leg, and exclaimed, “Russians OUT! F*cking Russians OUT!” Unlike the Hungarians and Slovaks, the Czechs have not forgotten what it's like to live under the Russian thumb. Thank you very much for your great initiative Czech Republic! Love, respect, (and F-16s!) from the Netherlands!

Germany may be more silent contributor, but also helps a lot now. I am happy that we can pull together now as one team. It wasn't always so (we had bad governments before, who were not so reliable in sense of international politics), but I see, your and my country does a lot today. The main mistake we have done before (both of our countries)was, that we were not prepared for such war and we were not prepared, that such dependency on trading with Russia could cause us so much trouble. I hope we will be able to learn from our mistakes and I hope Russian people will gain and understand freedom and truth democracy one day - but that cannot happen with Putin.

Well, France was the "problem child" for a long time - we, as a former Soviet satelite state, being ruled by them 1948-1989, experienced the brutal ending of "Prague spring" in 1968 with the USSR led invasion, were the first nation to provide UA tanks, howitzers, attack helicopters and so on and are doing to this day... We have even taken the most refugees per capita in the EU - 594.000 by a population of 10,5 million... France has given up only after the talks with our president about a month ago - Petr Pavel was the head of the NATO military commitee, and a soldier of the Czech special forces before, so he knows a lot.. Thankfully, it worked...

I'm wondering if it was on purpose to say the Czech shells would be delivered in the summer so that russia would continue doing desperate attacks? As we now know 300k have already been delivered. Everyone pushed the narrative that the shells would be delivered in the summer not right away.
@viktornovomestsky3999
@viktornovomestsky3999 2 ай бұрын
It's first to confuse Russia and not to interfere in the purchase or delivery, and second it's because there are 2 nations who are part of the EU and NATO, namely Hungary and Slovakia, and they're actively pushing Russian propaganda, refusing to send any weapons and are blocking almost any help (with their veto power) - both have been removed from the talks regarding Ukraine, thankfully... We were simply worried the info could be leaked to the Russians through them.. You're right, the first batch of 300.000 shells has been delivered 2 days ago, the another 500.000 shall be in UA in May and the rest of 700.000 throughout the year - I don't have the info about that, as it's still negotiated..

I wonder how much was the average price of those old shells that Prague paid for them? Maybe this ammunition is 20 or 30 years old, or more? I bet they are not being compensated at the procurement prices. Sounds like Prague knew that they had these shells sitting in dusty warehouses and were waiting for the situation to deteriorate and the price for these shells to triple or quadruple from the original procurement cost. I wonder what the Dud-Rate will be? Maybe one in ten will not explode? Maybe one in eight, one in five?
