Classic Japan, their idea of mech weapons is usually just scaled up real life weapons, like even in Gundam the ReGZ was armed with an AK-47 and this is also a Bandai Namco product btw so you know they been doing this for quite a while when it comes to their mech IP's heck I seem to recall that a gundam weapon actually inspired a real life weapons project I can't recall which one

@@kulvixy I mean it looked obvious and if you had the regz model kit it is straight up an AK with bakelite furniture but slightly futuristic, although this is just one example remember the Zaku I sniper literally uses a mg42 even reloading it is just the same barrel replacement operation and the GM sniper uses a sniper rifle thats reminiscent of an AR platform while their basic rifles looks like an m4 but bullpup and top loaded for some reason, and the theme does prevail of Zeon using Germanic weapons and the Federation using more Allies or American looking weapons something akin to modern rifles while zeon uses weapons that looks like something the bad guys of ww2 would use which makes sense in the context of making the story a war story since you can relate to the themes between both factions resembling the Axis vs Allies

If I get this I’m probably gonna use the Gatling and Bazooka combo. If the flamethrower defies convention and isn’t garbage though I’ll definitely make heavy use of it. I’m a sucker for a good flamethrower.

Can confirm the flamethower is pretty damn good. I was very pleasantly surprised by it. It's very ammo efficient and perfectly capable of being used through an entire level with no problems. The damage is modest (and can be increased by improving your explosion damage stat in the OS Tuning menu). I dual wield them and they've been extremely reliable, except against enemies with Pulse Shields, in which it does basically 0 damage, but they're very few and far between. I just try to stay within 200 meters of an enemy and hold down both triggers and watch in glee as their health bar gradually depletes.

@@nickl3138 Awesome. It’s always fun to have a good flamethrower. Usually they’re plagued by some unavoidable problem like extremely poor range, pitiful damage or a voracious appetite for rare munitions. Maybe I’ll use the Flamethrower in one hand and a Rocket Launcher or Lascannon in the other. Flamethrower for lightweights and the cannon for cracking tougher nuts.

@@My10thAccount Yeah I don't remember the last game I played that didn't make them to be a complete novelty. Sadly, the Napalm Grenade Launcher is kinda... meh, at best. You get it much earlier in the game and I really wanted to make it work but it wasn't very effective. The damage it deals from the grenades themselves are pretty low,, and the fire damage left behind is modest but hard to keep enemies inside of to really make good use of it.

@@nickl3138 I can think of a few. Halo has good ones, Far Cry’s are great and COD WAW’s is borderline OP. However by in large they’re pretty terrible which is a shame considering how awesome they are as a concept and how utterly lethal they are up close.

Higher impact mainly. Great for building up stagger for those sweet swee sweet charged melee punishes or whatnot. They're mainly for dealing with high value targets like enemy AC's, rather than being used to kill trash enemies and going through a level.

There's the coral oscillator, that one swings a massive beam slowly from left to right, and also the coral rifle, which when fully charged, fires a massive aimable beam. Or he could be using the ML-Redshift which is just the Moonlight blade but with a red blade instead of green. None of the coral weapons are showcased in this video.

What's the difference between each of the shields/bucklers? Anyone knows?

All shields have different values for normal damage absorption and IG (Instant guard) damage absorption, as well as different IG windows. Bucklers have a very short IG window and worse general defensive stats in exchange for massive damage absorption during that tiny window. If you're thinking in the "Souls" series sense, bucklers are better for parrying just like in those games.

Moonlight and karasawa is in the game. Moonlight name didn't change but karasawa did it's like KRSV I think

You missed all of the coral weapons. Continue playing the game into new game + and NG+2 and you will find around 10 new weapons

Missed some weapons, there is a "scutum" shield and a coral blade similar to the moonlight blade edit: Also a bunch of other weapons like the cluster missile launcher and all of the coral weapons

He just hasn't unlocked it. The Karasawa in this game is unique in that it can fire both normal lasers and AoE plasma bolts, and can also be overcharged for a huge beam.
