I was personally waiting for one of the Chapter 4 endings to show Balam in the majority rather than Arquebus. That sequence lent itself so well to alternate cutscenes showing the different factions in different situations which would have breathed a little life into the endings and make your choices feel a little bit more impactful, as it is sometimes I feel like the choices you make have very little impact to the overall plot aside from one or two dialogue differences and added mission elements. Of course I mean solely in terms of arquebus/Balam/RLF and not Walter/Carla/Rusty/Ayre/all mind story beads

I sided with Ayre last as far as endings go, assuming that siding with the nice voice that's been in my head for two playthroughs is going to be the "good" ending, and it felt genuinely good to do so literally up until the very second of coral convergence. I'm staring into the abyss of what looks like a black hole ready to presumably swallow up the universe and Ayre just goes "Isn't it beautiful?".....uhhhh

Depends on how you look at it. FromSoft games rarely leave things at a surface level; a character may only SEEM mad, a boss may SEEM simple or, in this case, Coral Release may SEEM as if it were a black hole. In a way, it is, but from context clues, most notably dialogue and the name itself, I already kind of figured out that it's not... NECESSARILY a mass extinction event. That is to say, it doesn't kill anyone in and of itself. O'Keaffe is a wellspring of info, implying that Coral Release would make humanity something... Other. In this sense, someone with a transhumanist or superhumanist (think Astartes from WH40K - they aren't transhuman, they're human but MORE) mentality might see something good, while a more "traditional" mindset like O'Keaffe's would find the idea horrifying. Just like Dolmayan, nobody wants to cast the die - because it's scary. And frankly, if I were provided the option IRL? Yeah, I'd be scared to cast the die, too. To be honest, I wasn't REALLY doing it for myself, or because I thought it was inherently the best option; I did it for Ayre, because I believed in her and *our shared dream.* In a way, to cast the die, you do need a firm belief - Caesar himself obviously wouldn't have crossed the river Rubicon and famously proclaimed "Alea Iacta Est" if he didn't think he had a chance. In that sense, you could also argue that the ending is a cautionary tale of blind belief - all depending on how you interpret it. I, for one, wouldn't really mind, so if Ayre is happy, I'm happy.

The nightfall raven that we fight in the game, i somehow always see most people think the pilot is female due to the voiceline that "raven's operator" had. And seeing how the operator talked and refers to, it feels like the nightfall raven's pilot is just another silent character like us. I think in ending 3 when Iguazu says you killed him 3 times, he means him and all the people that Allmind merged with, that being Sulla, O'Keefe and Iguazu, as all 3 of them were candidates for Coral Release which Allmind needs after she claims 621 and Ayre.

They range from ok to excellent, and that's one hell of an achievement. Also, Walter, Carla and Nagai didn't fear the Coral because of it's highly combustible property. They fear the unknown potential that it could do to humanity as a whole after witnessing what Walter's father's experiments brought to life. Given how games and DLCs are released in the current gaming industry, I wonder if we'll see a traditional standalone AC game within the 6th Generation, or if we'll just see a major DLC expansion to Fires of Rubicon. A part of me hopes is a standalone, and it gives the 6th Gen a major glow up like FA did for 4th gen, and VD did for 5th. I'd absolutely love to see an across the board refinement of 6th with tons of more parts and a follow-on story set some time later to really show us the true aftermath of what happened on Rubicon. Stellar video, Malcador! I watch this one, the 5th, and 4th gen videos all today! Have been a major fan of the AC franchise since I was a child, with the 4th gen (particularly FA) being my undisputed favorite. 6th is objectively better is just about every way. But I just love the 4th gen, namely the NEXTs. I'd love to see more of what 6th can do, especially when its further refined, but I'd frankly be okay with the bosses being a little less over-the-top and returning to a more Arms Fort style fight or cracked out ACs. Funnily enough, I think Intercept the Redguns was probably the most traditional Armored Core mission in terms of difficulty. Would love to see more of that!

I disagree with your assessment of thr Sea Spider. You can beat it pretty easily in phase one with almost any build by circling around it at very close range. When it goes for the melee, boost forward under it and it'll overshoot you by a billion miles. Lighter builds can avoid most of the boss's damage in phase one. In phase two, tetrapod builds are the best Ive found. You can hover above it and it just cant hit you. You'll have to go to ground a few times to refill on EN, but if you make good use of yoir time in the air you can pummel it with heavy weapons from complete safety.

Nightfall Raven is a huge mystery. You can think of the AC as a silent pilot listening to a handler, like yourself. You can think of the Operator as the pilot, talking to someone who you simply can't hear. Or, my personal favorite (despite being the least likely option) is the Operator is the pilot, talking to a Coral lifeform just like you.

I like how you said you felt the endings didn't come off as good or bad endings. All of them do accomplish something in the end. This might be a little controversial, but i loved the Fires of Raven ending. After everything we had seen about Coral we know the dangers it can present through the weapons it controls, we're able to fulfill Walter's last wish, and(this is very farfetched) while we do betray Ayre Rubicon is closed off forever so if the Coral does build itself up again in the future like it did from the Fires of Ibis humanity won't be around to abuse it anymore.

This was a great video and you did indeed went pretty in depth with the lore, as for the Third Ending, my take on Alea Iacta Est is similar to what you surmise, like Neon Genesis Evangelion "Human Instrumentality Project", "Coral Release" aims to push Humanity into a next step, but unlike Eva, "Coral Release" doesn't aim to merge all Human consciousness into a single entity and merge that with Coral what it does as far as I understood is merging singular Human consciousness with singular Coral being in the same way Ayre ends up living in 621 brain for most part of the game meaning in the end Humanity as a whole merge with Coral. On the topic of clarifying some things you clearly misunderstood, Mutation in Coral aren't the cause of it igniting, Coral by itself is a sublime power source that is really volatile when expose to anything that triggers flames, Professor Nagai was the one to Ignite the Fires of Ibis, Coral in itself doesn't want to Ignite as it is equal to self genocide, when the game talks about Coral Mutation it refers to entities like Ayre, which is a Coral Mutation Wave capable of self awareness, this means lower concentrations of Coral can't create being like Ayre and that they just come into being when larger colonies of Coral converge, another misconception you have is that Allmind's research into Autonomous crafts is vital for Coral Release, which it isn't Coral Entities can inhabit machines on their own, travel through circuits and hack directly into machines as seen in Ayre hacking into Allmind's secret logs, faking official missions so you can go into the geological survey meaning once Coral Release is achieved, Humanity now living as a disembodied consciousness in a fully mutated Coral Wave can do just as Ayre and possess machines, robots and ACs just as easily.

Hi, around 1:24:40, where did you find the source that Liberator was originally intended as an NG+ only ending? This does make credence that From wanted to railroad the player into Fires first with how a fresh new game is set up, with Fires > Liberator > Release as the ideal playthrough route.

Glad I found this vid and your channel. This was my first AC game, like many others, and my first real forray into mecha outside of Titanfall. And. . .yeah, it's amazing. At the final boss of NG++ after taking a bit of a break, and am at well over 100 hours. I can't really add more on the sound design except that damn kick man! Mwah! 🤌 And the soundtrack slaps, and is quite in line with past osts. So seeing people say (before the soundtrack was on platforms like Spotify) that it was sub-par or inauthentic was strange. I will say on the bosses: Balteus and Cel were by far the hardest for me, with C-spider probably being 3rd. I don't hate any of them though. It's so damn satisfying to get to a point where I can beat Balteus or CS first try (Cel is still harder though). In fact, I'd say Cel was among the hardest fights I've ever had in a game. I've 100%ed Sekiro, at the very least. But holy crap; they were the only boss I caved in with and cheesed with double zimms and a needle launcher. But, I still think it's one hell of a fight. Reminds me a ton of Guardian Ape, too. It was long enough ago that I could certainly be wrong, but as bad as Cel and Balteus (and CS) were, I can't say I it ever got to the point of unbridled frustration. I don't care if it doesn't fit the traditional definition: AC6 is the best RPG ever, fight me.
