Infinite was the most batshit crazy and fun bioshock. I loved every second of it. Pacing was good, acting was good, not too hard, not too easy. It's just a fun game for me to escape into.

I got my copies of V and VD for $3 each from Gamestop in 2013. The used game market is completely scuffed.

fun fact, also spoilers for the third ending too during the all mind fight you can just ignore the sea spiders and just go straight for all mind, once the second phase start both the sea spider got caught in the blast

To me, the most interesting thing this game has after you finish it is the AC creator. I have 87 mechs created, and planning on continuing to make those since it's kind of a relaxing process to me, a good mean to have fun, discovering new stuff and empty your head ^^

Played all the xenoblade games and X is the best of them all! Gameplay, atmosphere, the world and the music by far the best in the xenouniverse!

V was my first AC game, and then I got Verdict Day. When 6 came out, and I saw all the whining about the game being too hard, the game not having i-frames when dodging, and people not even being able to beat the first boss, I just laughed. As a veteran from the war against the Zodiacs, I couldn't believe what I was hearing. The first two bosses in 6, weren't even that bad. They probably wouldn't ever be able to conquer the Smart Cleaner.

The music of this game will never not make me cry.

would hardly say forgotten, given that I and anyone else from my old group miss the bouts we had trying to take over various territories during each season, the game itself is solid and was a nice change from the usual formula, will without a doubt always say 4 answer is best and that a remaster of the original psone games with that type of set up would be welcomed but then again is whatever. Can't help but see the shouldn't play and think that maybe someone picked the game up outside of its prime life but then again is w/e just click baity. have fun.

What about Verdict Day?

I hate ACV Gen because i couldnt ficken SEE anything. I honestly think being colorblind effed me up. The whole thing becomes a malange of brown green and red... Which are my worse colors. I still beat it cuz i bought it but i practically exiled it forever after. For some reason i played verdict day. It was so long my eyes bled out and I exiled it early. Also i hated how if you wanted to be a lightweight you were just always vulnerable anything other than kinetic weapons. Just broken out of the box.

Verdict day slapped pretty hard but yeah AC5 was clunky

I was maybe 15 when I played the Old King Mission, the way he gives you the numbers messed me up real good. It freaked me out so badly that I didn’t play it again for weeks. Arrr so innocent XD.

Great video! But totally disagree with the take that the graphics are bad. Yes they're not super detailed and high res, but man the combo of the graphics and art direction... they show a bleak, mostly lifeless, destroyed, post-apocalyptic earth that hits in a way I've never seen any other media portray. How many other games show earth as just endless fields of grey ash, darted by either long decayed buildings or brand shining new infrastructure so untouched, clinical, soulless, and empty that it may as well not be there at all. The entire point of the Armored Core series is to put you in the absolute worst case scenario version of human life, but make you forget about how hopeless everything is because of how awesome the mechs are... until it hits you that there's no actual point to the fighting at all because there's nothing left to fight for anymore. It's just corporations endlessly destroying each other for dominance in a world not worth dominating.

They did the same thing to AC4, the main game was half finished and the DLC? Spin off? For Answer was the real game. Same with Verdict day, it's 900% better than 5 and actually worth playing.

AC 6: fires of rubicon is lit as fuck tho

While 5th gen is cross generational story, it is not the canon lead up to 4th gen. 5th gen is a "what if" different timeline, and thus is not the canon progression of 4th gen. 4th gen is open ended on it's endings, 5th gen is a "what happened to the people left on earth" scenario.

Like you, jrpg's definitely formed the foundation of my love for video games in general. Specifically, it was ff7 which introduced me to the genre back in '97, and also like you, xbc got me back into the genre after falling into a mass effect rabbit hole for years. Ive wanted to play xcx so much recently, but with nintendo cracking down on roms/emulators, and unless they release a switch port, i dont see it happening unfortunately.

ACFA was my first armored core title. I rebound my controls in AC6 to better match those old days on my Xbox 360. It's worth everyone's time. Play all the endings.

Witch was terrible. The best part is the ending when they leave the mom who is crippled in a wheelchair at the bottom of a ditch as they walk away.

Basically my feelings on ACV: "This would be a lot more fun IF I COULD GET MORE THAN 17 FPS". Pretty sure this issue was what made me abandon consoles as a whole.

i played this game as a teen, the old king true ending you just gotta move fast and not stop moving, if you stop you die. it took me about 30 tries but i beat it

A ok another tourist who thinks they know fromsoft got it. ACV Is fairly decent. Some minor nitpicks but solid game and still has an active playerbase till this day. Come talk to me when you actually are a real fromsoft fan

Little late but in youre listing of mecha games in the beginning you forgot Mechwarrior/battletech

ACV had the strongest opening for me in the franchise. Granted, while I am a long time AC fan i was not able to keep up with the series for the most part, so I only got to play V long after the servers shut down, and didn't even know of the online only aspects of the game until later. That said, while I admit I like some bad games, I honestly find little legitimately bad about V. Some stuff could be better, but between its aesthetic, the best general movement of the series, a re emphasis on legs changing movement after Gen 4, and hands down several of mu favorite levels of any AC game, seeing V being called "the bad one" had been weird for me to see.
