I think I have a rather insane theory regarding Klein, what if he was the Raven from MOA, but when he defeated Nineball, the AI had one last trick up its sleeve and hid itself within his AC and waited for the perfect opportunity to return. The Nineball AI would hijack Klein when he became a Human Plus in a attempt to regain control of something it lost, but it would distort, fusing Klein's mind with the Nineball AI at the front. Perhaps from just seeing how much of Mars was just a battlefield thanks to the constant fighting from the corps, the Nineball AI decided that the current state of Mars is a lose cause and needs to reset from scratch, including removing his own allies so he could lead the new world by himself, like he did in the past. It maybe the reason why Klein decides to tell the Raven where to completely destroy Phobos, it wasn't the Nineball AI in control at that time, but Klein himself, perhaps in a way to atone for he has done, but history is written by the victors with both Klein and the Nineball AI asking the Raven, "What is it that you wish?"

Mad lad did it at last. Leos Klein will always be the best antagonist in the series. He’s a man who started out only doing things for himself but then realise his mistakes. Understanding human nature better than anyone else as he suffered under the rule of a AI during the Subterranean Era as well as witnessing/participating in the subsequent wars that followed after the destruction of said AI. Multifaceted character through and through. What’s even better is that he was right all along. That humans by nature cannot be trusted to carve a path for peace by themselves as war is always inevitable. Such a great character. Love the video 👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾

Truth be told, I wish we could have reasoned with Leos Kline. Still, he ended up freeing the Ravens through his end at the hands of the Raven.

I love this video! Leos is my favorite character in all of Armored Core due to his complexity. When it comes to Klein, I'm always reminded of the quote, "You either die a hero, or you live long enough to see yourself become the villian." If he was the Ninebreaker of MOA, it almost makes his story arc tragic. I wonder if that is what Fromsoft was going for? There is a track called "King Lear" in AC2. The Shakespearean play of the same name dealt with an old monarch who goes insane while pulling off a series of political machinations. Coincidence?

Ayy we got to one of my favorites! Never realized Leos’s H+ enhancements kept him looking young, tho it makes sense. Shame we haven't really had an antagonist like Klein again after AC2 - one that you personally interact with (if i remember correctly anyway). Guess we'll see what AC6 holds in that regard. Also, anytime I heard someone say "Frighteners," I could only think of that movie with Michael J. Fox by the same name. Edit: oh, hold on there's Genobee from nexus, and the LR peeps.

I have a theory that Klein is not us from MOA, but is hustler one that is way he says what he does and way his goal is to bring humanity back under control. That is why a 90 year old looks 40 as it is a machine, not a man. Why we also remind him of the MOA and AC1 pilots.

I played ac 1997 (japanese disk) without knowing anything about story, then us region pp and moa. Because of the japanese ac 1997 disk, i missed plus overweight save file. Really2 had blast that time. Missed ac2, but 100% ac2aa, ac3, sl, and 4. Really regret for missing 2, nexus, 9 breaker, lr, 4a, 5 and 5vd because of work. Love the video, what led me to find this was trying to look into the cover AC of armored core 2 and see if it had a name and whatnot so just to make sure I got it correctly Loes Klein was the main AC pilot in the intro cutscene shooting down enemies and blowing up that base with the karasawa mk2?

The theories that Leos Klein is truthfully Fritz Byne either due to seeing corporate coruption and how it only made things _worse then it was_ or Human Plus hijacking and distorting his minds would be extremely ironic. The man who's lives has been ruined by A.I is inflicting the same pain and same ideals of that A.I _A rebel you might say..._ but I have yet another weird theory *what about the Raven that started this?* the first "Nine Breaker", possibly the same one that gone through Project Phantasma as well. Maybe he's Leos Klein even if they don't share the same possible color scheme, he's the one that got asked "what is it that you wish?", he is the first to challenge the A.I and most evidentially of all... *Project Phantasma,* he's the one that experienced something similar to what Leos Klein did His age, him being in the first and possibly second game, human plus status without being codename, his experiences against Human Plus first-hand, and even him helping us out during Phobos's crashing and constantly calling us "Rebel" or "Raven" even compounds it as well... _though I do see some holes in this theory_

Didn't all the Earth-aligned ravens get destroyed in the attack on the flying battleship? I would assume that's why you were the only available raven left for the attack on Phobos.
