In 1969 I was lucky enough to live/study in Denmark for 6 months. The red cabbage was always served along beef. Yum!

Arne, Arne! Sneaking bites of the cabbage and apple! I burst out loud with laughter! I grew up with a mom who is a German gourmet cook and we learned to cook at 9. The purple cabbage is my favorite. My mouth was watering as i watched you two taste the dishes. Yum, yum! Yes, I would love to see you cook next year. Off to market for both cabbages!

Yes, Yes, Yes to next year’s holiday cooking. I am 1/2 Norwegian, but my ancestors moved to America in the late 1800s. My father’s mother died when he was very young so we essentially have no Norwegian traditions. I would love for you to share even MORE cooking, celebrations and Norwegian traditions year round. I’m only a crocheter, but love watching you guys. Merry, Merry !!

I served the Red Cabbage recipe as a last minute add-on to my Christmas dinner menu. It was superb and a surprise hit with my family and friends! It was a beautiful accompaniment to my rib roast and other side dishes. This one is a keeper! Thank you for sharing this lovely Norwegian recipe.

You both do a wonderful job with the cooking tutorials. It is not easy to explain what you’re doing, keep the sous chef in task, and manage the moose hunt all at the same time. And then viola, beautiful, flavorful, appetizing Christmas dinner. The whole family will be watching next week as we travel together to Victoria BC to start our Solstice and Christmas getaway. It will make great entertainment in the car. Good third week of Advent to you both and Freja too!

I grew up with both kinds of cabbage dishes in Germany and Grünkohl. Now I live in the US and still prepare them. You can also make delicious salads with cabbages and there is a delicious dish with white cabbage , butter, salt, and lots of pepper. Thank you both 🌸

I grew up in a neighbourhood of Eastern Europeans and Europeans so we had such a wealth of food around us. Most of us grew vegetable gardens and visiting friends meant being treated to fresh sauerkraut, perogies, cabbage rolls, sausages, fresh Italian pasta and sauces...food that my friends parents might have thought humble but we thought were better than any restaurant anywhere. I still love a good homemade sauerkraut with fresh ground pepper.

I grew up in Oswego, NY and my mother's family is Polish. My bachi used to make pierogies and galumpkis for big family get togethers like Christmas and Easter. I have also made a Czechoslovakian dish of a hollowed out cabbage stuffed with ground beef and butter and cooked in the oven. Cabbage is so versatile and delicious. Merry Christmas!

Thank you! I could smell the red cabbage all the way here! Rotkohl is what we call it in German. Sometimes I put a couple of spoons lingo berry sauce or cranberry sauce into it. It makes it a little richer. Grünkohl or Kale is also a favorite and I make a slaw or kohlsalat from the green cabbage, with lemon juice, a bit of mayonnaise and fresh dill.

It's such a hoot watching men cook! You did great! I love the Norwegian recipes for cabbage. The two you did are my top favorites, but I also love lamb and cabbage and my mom used to make a creamy cabbage that we ate with roast chicken growing up.

Love you guys, no matter what you do! I will make both of these, I am vegetarian. I even have the la creuset pots. Your beautiful kitchen and adorable fun attitudes add to the enjoyment of you podcast. So sorry to have missed you in St. Thomas Ontario, 1 hour from me but weather was a driving factor . All reports of your visit were amazing and are ongoing.❤️🇨🇦❤️Connie
