I love this positive energy you emanate with your body language and expressive intonation🙂 I find myself quite an advanced English speaker but about 1/3 of these words were new to me and really useful (such as garner). Also, it's great that you don't follow the trend other popular English teachers follow, to squeeze as many new words, phrases, idioms, etc. in one video as possible. What's the point in recording a lesson on "100 useful idioms" or "50 advanced adjectives to describe personality" if no one can memorize more than 10 at once?

Hi Arnel ❤️ Eavesdrop, overhear, deter, garner, cultuvate, overshadowed (are completely new verbs for me) reciprocate, overhear, enforce, thank (I've heard about them before, however I didn't know how to use them in a sentence. Now I know, Kudos to your great work Arnel!!! I love your channel ❤️🥰👍🇨🇱

Thank you so much for dropping this great video on KZfaq. I would say that this video just comes in handy. I have already learned the majority of these words. Mind you, words such as reciprocate, eavesdrop and garner are new for me. Beyond a shadow of a doubt, many of these words can easily be adapted into the IELTS writing task 2 essay, depending on the topic that comes up on test day.

Some of these verbs were easy to recognize because of their latin roots. So glad I speak Spanish! So good our languages have words with the same meaning! Once more, I THANK YOU, ARNEL!

Pura Vida Arnel🏝🇨🇷! I loved the excitement you expressed when explaining the verb to eavesdrop. Showing the shadow of that girl made the verb to overshadow very easy to understand and remember. Four verbs were new for me. These are my example with them: 1. When I was a kid, I overheard my aunts talking and hiding my Christmas presents. 2. I put cucumbers on my back yard to deter cats from coming to my house to attack my birds. 3. The sisters were overshadowed by Cinderella’s beauty. 4. Amy Fleming from Heartland garnered a reputation of “The miracle girl” due to her great bond with horses.

@@ArnelsEverydayEnglish Yes that works. Cats don't approach when they see a cucumber. According what I read, they get scared thinking the cucumbers are snakes.
