I talk to Arnold Van Den Berg, CEO and Chairman of Century Management, and among the best investors in the world. In this episode, we talk about Arnold's experience in winning a losing hand that life offers, constructing a good life, and the power of subconscious mind.
This conversation was supposed to be about 50% investing and 50% life. It turned out to be 99% life and 1% investing, and that was wonderful. And that's why I have not put up show notes here, for I would like you to listen, uninterrupted, to Arnold's stories and the most important lessons and principles that have guided him for the past few decades.
Arnold's life must be celebrated and remembered, and it was my great pleasure to talk to him. I am sure you would find bliss in all that Arnold has to share, like I did.

Mr Arnold has changed my life a lot ever since I watched his first video on KZfaq. This is the second video and I am always awed by his wisdom, humility and truthfulness. I want to meet him , go through his library and just spend an hour with him . I am in Nigeria but I will find a way to go to his house and meet him while he is still alive. I will find a way .

I read about Arnold in RICHER WISER HAPPIER, his life story gave me goosebumps. His sheer will to not give up even when all is stacked against him and his self acquired knowledge truly makes him a man worthy of respect.

Van Den Bergh energy was tangible throughout the talk , Life per se seems to be more important to him and investing seems to be coming from that source. A talk to be watched again and again and 2 and half hours just passed by. Thanks Vishal for bringing a genuine and a warm person on the show

Vishal, listening through this video is a life settling experience. I don’t like fundamental investing, but love the videos you record. I specifically like the long videos and listen to them over my walk. For short videos you can make topic clusters/playlists that would be helpful.

Seriously Arnold Van den beg is an ultimalte example that you dont have to extremly smart to be sucessful in the investment business, Viewers please read the Chapter "I am the richest man in the world" in the book "RICHER WISER , HAPPIER" book by William Green its about the most inspiring story of Arnold Van den Berg . Thoughtful insights on the sub-conscious mind and its power. We should listen to our body when it gives indication on what it can do what it cannot. Same way the mind interacts to what we should be doing right and what we do is wrong. There is also a constant tussle between the mind and the heart where the mind directs that something we should not be doing but we succumb to the heart i.e. the temptation. I would be very happy if there can be development of will power then it will help us to channelise and listen to the voice of sub-conscious mind.
