And yet the real Imhotep (born 2667 BC - 2648 BC in Memphis, Ancient Egypt) was a polymath (he was the architect of the Pharaoh Djoser’s stepped pyramid), the father of medicine, vizier, sage, architect, astrologer, and chief minister. Not bad for a commoner who rose through the ranks and, following his death, was elevated to god status. He is believed to buried at the Saqqara Necropolis in Egypt.
@enkisdaughter4795
@enkisdaughter4795 3 ай бұрын
I’ve always thought that Imhotep was the ancient world’s Heron (Hero) of Alexandria, who in turn was an ancient world’s (later than Imhotep) Da Vinci, who was then replaced by Michelangelo Buonarroti Simoni.

Imhotep was a phenomenal villain because we always got to see the man underneath. Yes, 3000+ years being eaten alive by scarabs definitely made him monstrous, but he held on to that love that he'd sacrificed everything for. That's why his death in the first movie is fine, but his death in the sequel is *PERFECT.* He survived and endured what no mortal should have to experience, because he still believed in their love. Thus, to see her abandon him, that was truly the death of Imhotep. There is nothing left for him. For all the horrifying things he's done, we feel genuine sympathy for the villain in the end.
@theartofliving5001
@theartofliving5001 Жыл бұрын
YES! Above all the immortal shit, he was driven by the most human emotion-love. And to be betrayed by it in the end... fate worse than death, that's why he let go and fell. And that last scene, with him tearing up and looking at Rick and Evy with an ironic smile, understanding that that is true love, not what he and his lover Anck-Su-Namun had... I don't think I've ever felt so sad and compassionate about a villain, let alone a nightmarish monster.

Yes! He moved Earth and time to reconnect with his love and she ran when he needed her most. That look on his face was so heartbreaking. He played that feeling so believeably, that you felt empathy for him, you knew what drove him and what failed him at the end. He was brilliant in that last moment, the whole film yes but that moment was gold!@@theartofliving5001

Arnald.

The only thing that I notice since going bald is summer sucks because you have no hair with which to catch the sweat, so you really end up just irritating your facial/head skin by wiping it dry every 20 seconds or so. one of my favorite films, alot of hater say that this is a mear imitation of indiana jones, will everything is indiana jones were imitation of the serials of the 40s treasure seeking and sure the 40s mummy pictures, as well, but this is such a good just horror movie, it wasnt like the cruise reboot, which was an action movie with horror elements this has that but it flowed perfectly unlike that film and dont forget that mummy was much of the horror than not, so alot of filmakers forget that, i like the 3 films, i miss these films, i know brandan cant come back and do once since, he is a little bulky but i wouldnt mind another reboot or maybe recast of fraiser character with daniel craig now husband of real life actress racheal weisz and they could come back he is older, and if he wants he can do an american accent or not, maybe british is okay, and rami malek play the mummy which he did in the night and the museum franchise, so that is your casting, right there, perfect, sofia boutella from the cruise films can be his wife, and you just continue the story have action, but make it more about horror which was missing in the cruise films, craig worked with rami in NTTD, i mean indiana jones was an imitation of james bond, lupin the third anime movie caligastro which i found out, and serials. So everything is borrowed from something else. racheal and craigs last movie together was dream house and it wasnt that great. he was great in 24
