I'm from Fall River, been living in Iowa since my brother passed 2 years ago (40s) South end btw. Watching you drive around with the music made me nostalgic about 80s and 90s girlfriends school my brother. I hate what the city became but I miss it and I miss my brother. Thank you for the clip.

I grew up in Bangor, Maine. Fall River is for sure an upgrade from that.

@@agingmillennialmainer nah bro im from ma but i lived in skowhegan and the surrounding area for a long time and im quite familiar with bangor. Its no where near as bad as fall river its just got a bad economy because its so remote. Theres understandable reasons not to like bangor but its overall a pretty peaceful city.

@@agingmillennialmainer i like fall river too tho dont get me wrong im big fan of cities that are on the ocean and fall river is great for that but its just not as safe as bangor

I was born in Fall River at Union Hospital ( no longer there,). In 1955. My parents, 2 sisters and I moved to Southern California in 1962. My roots go very deeply in that once grand city, to the mid 1800s, especially my father’s side. I do genealogy and have literally hundreds and hundreds of names from the Ancestry database of the Fall River census records. It hurts to see how much that town has to struggle, over decades of time.

Make sure to check out Battleship Cove if you've never been on an Iowa class or a diesel sub. :)

Miss you Fall River -- 1974 to 1976 -- Battleship Cove -- when times were innocent, serene and peaceful.

So long as you aren't a person who drinks and does drugs it's still pretty peaceful. I'd take it over a lot of cities in Maine.

Is fall river too dangerous these days?
@agingmillennialmainer Жыл бұрын
I feel safer in Fall River than I did a few towns in suburban Dallas-Fort Worth (much bigger) or northern Maine (much smaller.) Folks don't take their guns to the grocery store here like in Southlake, Texas. The homeless/panhandlers here are also fewer and less aggressive than smaller city like Bangor, Maine. It's amazing what some semblance of a social safety net for the less fortunate does for livability for everyone.
