When your staff talked about their favorite comfort food and mentioning your moms really touched a soft spot, my mom just passed away in October. It didn’t make me cry for the first time in a long time and made me feel good to hear your memories. It made me smile. Thank you for sharing a personal part of your life.

I am Dutch, Indonesian origin, working and living now in Luxembourg. As I am stuck in Luxembourg because of the Covid lock down I am making my comfort food right now. Zuurkool and porc chops and lots of gravy.😋 Happy New Year.

loooooool They‘ve proven to be ZERO fact checking……… The „döner kebab“ is NOT a sandwich eaten in turkey. There they eat it on a plate, with the bread served separately!!! It‘s ONLY a sandwich in germany, it was invented by turkish immigrants in germany when they were looking for a way to serve proper „food to go“ and most turks in turkey don‘t even know about this form of serving it...!

From my personal experience, in Iraq, Kurdistan, Sudan, Darfur, Egypt and Saudi Arabia, it may be served on a roll of bread similar to a hot dog bun, or in a pita, where it is called a shwarma.. In Turkey itself, it also may be rolled up in a type of thin pide. A little knowledge can lead to incorrect conclusions.

I sometimes wish I could connect with people that feel so incredibly rooted in their 'food culture'. Food is not only a part of one's identity (and heritage), but cooking is also a universal language that transcends 'language'. It is not a means to an end - it really defines us as a civilization, and I feel like I can connect to different heritages by cooking their food.

You forgot South Germany. We have very special hand and home made noodles called "Spätzle". Check them out yourself by searching with "Spaetzle". If they formed small and somehow round they are called "Knöpfle", same dough, but an other region, also in the South.

I'm Dutch, but I have never heard of someone eating stroopwafels as dessert. We just eat them as cookies, quite often with a mug of hot steaming coffee or tea. We put the stroopwafel on our mugs so the syrup melts.

Thai pork fried rice. I long for it. They use a yellow oil of some type. Lite and nutty.real fluffy too.the vegetables are always chuncy yet transparent. Real comfort food and good liberty food, while visiting as apart of a task force while serving in the U.S Navy Pattaya beach, and Bangkok.

When I went to Hungary and travelled across Europe with my family, I loved being in the heat in a tshirt and short sitting and eating ice cream in a hot chimney cake cone, it was a chimney cake with the bottom closed for the soft serve or hard scoop ice cream to not drip all over my 2nd grade hands as we talked and looked at the castle on a hill far away

I have 2 dishes as my favorite. My mother's meatloaf and her prime rib. Meatloaf smothered in brown gravy and mushrooms with red skin mashed potatoes and sauteed corn. Or a slice of prime rib with green beans and scalloped potatoes. And her come made mac and cheese with crumbs..... I would have that as my last meal I love it that much. ❤️

Well i'm 56, in Australia and grew up in Queensland, Gold Coast. I ate nearly all of them threw-out my life. Goes to show how multi-cultural Australia has always been. Donna Kabab hands down favourite. We make it in a flat bread and toast it before serving. So good after a night out.

i am argentinian so i love every argentinian drink(Mate) dessert(rogel) or meal(Asado) that you mention but i also enjoy a good cup of chai or english breakfast tea i also enjoy eating arepas they are yummy (colombia and venezuela did get my tummy full with the arepas) and Paraguay and Brazil they made me fall in love with chipa and pao de quejo my god i never been out of my country but i travel through food and god i love food, i still need to try African food and south east asia s food , any recipie will be welcome !

In Germany, potato dumplings are served with schnitzel only extremely rarely. We like to schnitzel rather fries, potato salad or fried potatoes.

One of my favourite Polish summer dishes is mashed Strawberries, Sugar and Creme Fresh over noodles. The noodles make it filling, creme fresh means it's also not too sweet - keeping it somewhat of a savoury territory as it's a meal; not a dessert. You also make use of the abundance of Strawberries, which is considered one of Poland's main exports.

As someone from the subcontinent (Pakistan)I would like to make a tiny correction that the indian noodles are not called Kheer they are called Savayan or Sheer khorma. While Savayan are made using a kind of noodles (as shown in the video), Kheer is actually made from rice and is similar to a rice pudding.

I love codfish and bake. My favorite Jamaican comfort food is cowfoot soup with plenty boiled dumplins. My favorite Costa Rican comfort food is tamales stuffed with yellow rice, vegetables, chicken, shrimp, and/or beef.

I was sad when your staff mentioned about their favorite foods because my dad passed away may 2017 from pancreatic cancer and the food that made me know about him is Tamagoyaki.

In my parent’s region of Mexico, Puebla, they have Cemitas. Similar to tortas but with a bread that’s super crunchy on the outside and it’s hella loaded with cheese that looks like string cheese but way richer, breaded or smoked pork, avocado, sauce, tomato and papalo. Regular tortas are great, my favorite ones are the ham, chicken milanesa, and al pastor kinds.
