Thanks for another great video! Bonus points for getting the shot of the huge piece of equipment which now has shiny new arrestors! Outstanding work, as always.

A good turner can be recognized by the chips. A good turner does not use stupid cycles from the manufacturer, but makes his own.

Wow, that was some wild and scarry swarf coming out at you during those first two grooving operations. Certainly no time to check reddit.

Yup. I get what that arrestor is doing. Surprised they didn't go with safety wire it instead of split pins. I'm funny like that. Always like safety wire and lacing cord.
@ChrisMaj
@ChrisMaj Жыл бұрын
We are rebuilding that whole thing. Old one came in with no wire or pins and that thing was in the service for quite some time.

Good evening, I wanted to ask you why you did the second throat with a 5 mm tool and did not use the 8 mm one, it would have avoided a tool change

Nice work Chris. If you don't mind me asking what type of coolant is used in the smaller lathe in the second half of the video? It's blue and milky looking. Thanks, Ken

Uhhg. I wish I could afford a standard bed ways CNC lathe. I don't need no fancy slant bed, or rotary tool changer... Just a standard Teach CNC lathe...

Hey chris, U didn't have to re-center the plunger after roughing it? Beacause normally stainless steel bends/deform when u cut so much out of it.

We do have few big machines and the oil cooler unit on the machine right behind me is really loud. Maybe I could fix it in editing, but I don't have the time. That youtube thing is already taking more of my time than I anticipated.
