Somehow, through shorts and the algorithm, I stumbled upon Critcal Role's videos and started watching Campaign 3. I got to Episode 17 before deciding that I really need more backstory then just having watched the animated Vox Machina show a year or more ago now. So here I am, at Episode 1 of Campaign 1, very surprisingly, not alone! That's awesome and I hope everyone else enjoys every episode as much as I do!

And here I thought I was the only one crazy enough to start a 8 years running show now 😂 glad to see I’m not alone! But yeah, this first episode is a blast!

It seems that the gang were playing D&D for fun before deciding to take it online. For the background story up to "Arrival at Kraghammer" go to Campaign 1, Episode 36 which contains an origin story during the break (at 1:36:23 in that episode); it covers the adventures of Vox Machina up to the point where Critical Role 1 begins. This episode: Character origins begin at 1:09 and run to 12:30. This animated introduction is blurred out over some copyright issue, but the audio gives you the gist; however, there is a live-action introduction the players put together that appears at the beginning of the episodes from 50 on. Story Summary begins at 17:51, game begins at 20:00. Break at 1:31:50, game resumes at 1:43:49 and runs to 3:02:36. I give these time markings for all the other episodes as well. Please make comments there, too, so those threads stay near the top for people to use. The reason that the intro scene was blurred is because they used other artists and companies artwork and not their own. They didn't say who it was but one/few(can't remember how many) wanted royalty fees paid to them every time they aired said artwork/intro. They felt it was best to blur what they had and they eventually got rid of the lengthy character intro all together. They ended up replacing it with their own much shorter live action version instead.

I forgot how bad the audio is in the beginning 😂 Please, please don't let that deter you, friends! I'm making my way through campaign 2 rn, but came back to campaign 1 literally minutes before 2024 because I missed Scanlan ❤

I really decided 6 years later would be the perfect time to get into Critical Role

Watched the Laura Bailey clip where she willingly tried to bargain with a hag to drop the curse placed on a friend, and I'm forced to buy in. Recruited my high school aged daughter and we're going to try to watch them. Watched the first 40 minutes of season one tonight. Don't want to know how far we have to go.

Bidet Critters! My CR journey started in January of 2023 when I stumbled upon and watched both seasons of the Vox machina animated series! Then I quickly jumped in and watched all of C2 and I am currently caught up on C3! I am now taking the leap into C1! I am so excited for this journey so many of you are embarking on as well! I'm here having started Campaign 3 and not watched 1 or 2, and caught up to present day 28-Apr-24. Decided to jump back to Campaign 1 and start from the beginning to work back and get some of that context. On to adventure!

I started with Campaign 2 and just finished this weekend. Now I'm going back to the beginning to watch C1. I have to say, I've never enjoyed my commute more. They're such generous folks in the way they do improv, and how they make the party mechanics work. They seem to enjoy the collaboration almost as much as they love the enjoy the story, and it's infectious.

My journey begins today, with the Legend of Vox Machina pushing me to do it. FEBRUARY 5TH, 2022!

I was a little bit worried that I wouldn't be able to listen to this masterpiece because Matt's mic sounded like he was talking to us from the astral plane using two cans and a piece of string, but it was quickly fixed and I have officially started my journey through Critical Roll!

Heard the Scanlan intro, and immediately was like “this is my favorite”

So I found Campaign 1 about a year ago....since then I've consumed voraciously all 3 campaigns, much of Candela Obscura, and many of the 1Shots plus Ex:UNL and Calamity....and now I'm back here to start it all over 😊. I've watched and played a lot of D&D but this hits me in all the feels 💗. Love all the cast & critters. Thank you for enlightening my life!
