If you look the game main goals threat not only the doom amount is threatening, but the amount of mythos cards left. Even when things are fina and dandy that is a hard limit how much round you got to finish game, either win or loose.

Someone shared the link to these years ago and I just started to watch them from the beginning. I'm absorbed by these, thinking back to the few old campaigns It was ages ago when the 2nd edition and 3.5 were mainstream. I really like the casual approach Matt has with the 5e ruleset because it works to not drag the sessions down with so many rule checks and arguments about rulesets. I wish I was watching these live so I could have donated stuff to help them when they were new, so glad that they are well known now and pretty successful with their sessions. I think what really pushed me into pure love for this was Keyleth's speech in character about the dwarven ally. I love druids SO much.
