100% agree. That's why I'm cutting holes for the scales to make air flow as cleanly as possible and to keep the body at true height. Work in progress lol.

I've always liked speed but small scale was always my sons favorite so I stuck to it. Now that hes older hes got the itch for speed so here we are ☺️. Hopefully I can bring something of value to this part of the hobby 😁👍.

Correct on both aspects. This being a quick test I just ran as I had but I do plan on "sinking" scales into the floor of the tunnel for more accurate numbers. As for the turbulent air, I managed that with multiple egg crate screens stacked together. At the time I didn't have the patience to stack all those straws 😅🤣. Now that the concept shows promise I am working on the larger tunnel which will provide much higher air speeds for more useful numbers 👍, thanks!

@Gamyrc the egg crate screen idea sounds ingenious, I hope you can show us a deeper look into this setup in the next video. If possible I'd also love to see more cars in the tunnel and if this is something you're going to post content on I'd even donate a popularly used drag racing body or 2 for you to test and play with.

@@stp440 Would be awesome if I could get help from you and others to buildup a large number of tests. I have a Limitless V2 coming in the mail tomorrow which I will be doing some really deep tests on and for that one I am making the bigger tunnel as this tunnel can only fit 12in width and even that is pushing it as you want air to flowing around the side as well for accurate numbers. The bigger tunnel is closer to 18x12in. I may make it taller later on but as of now it needs to be this low in order to keep wind speeds higher as the suction fan I am using only pulls 8200cfm. On the 12x12 tunnel I have on this video speeds can reach a theoretical max of 100mph (nowhere near in real life due to losses 😅) with that bigger fan but with the smaller ones I can only get 10.5mph. On the larger tunnel this number will be much lower if I make it too big. I am building it with that 18in width and making internal side plates I can add as needed to make width smaller depending on what vehicle I will test so that I can get higher air speeds with smaller tunnel dimensions and the same suction setup. I'm trying to future proof the larger tunnel as this smaller one will be going to storage once that one is built.
