College Park Volunteer Fire Department has a new #ArrowXT #Pumper to be “First Due to the U” - the University of Maryland. The top of the apparatus contains a booster reel, deck gun and a “College Park special” - a blue light, following the department’s historical tradition which began in the 1950’s. The deck gun utilizes an electronic valve control for better control and deployment. Hose will be stored off the rear of the apparatus to allow room in the traditional crosslay area. #CollegeParkMD continues to add many high-rise buildings so the officer’s side standpipe storage was lowered for easier access.
