The goal for the Warrenton Volunteer Fire Company was to achieve a shorter overall length and height than their current rigs without having to sacrifice equipment space. This was accomplished with their Arrow XT Pumper. Because the department went with a smaller rig, the 5-man cab utilizes space with maximum compartmentation. For an easier wipe down after taking calls, a vinyl interior was chosen as part of the CARE initiative.
Each intake on the pump panel has an auxiliary primer in order to not lose a draft when getting the water to the valve. The valve located on top of the fire engine allows the driver to set the pressure manually and charge it, previously having an electric deck gun. The compartments on the rig are designed to fit the departments needs with various customizations.
This engine has a typical ladder complement: 24’ extension ladder, 14’ roof ladder and a 10’ folding attic ladder. Located on the front of the rig, in addition to the dual roto rays, there will be 25’ of 5” hose with the front intake and a storage compartment for fire hydrant tools.
