On this edition of the ArsenalVision Podcast, Elliot is joined by Clive to discuss a wonderfully dominant win over Newcastle. The pod starts with a bit on the atmosphere for the 8pm kickoff and the dominant performance Arsenal delivered right out of the gate. There’s a discussion of several individuals including Jorginho, Odegaard, Havertz, Saka and Kiwior. The conversation turns to the subs and some interesting lineup decisions that are soon going to be facing Mikel. The pod ends with the question of whether Arsenal can and will win the league. All that and more in this edition of the ArsenalVision Podcast.

Willock scoring against us & Iwobi scoring the winner against United is a reminder how talented & valuable our Academy senior players are. Eddie is basically our 4th choice striker now & should be sold for 30 million this summer.

Not sure but loved the Iwobi goal. Shame Bournemouth didn't have someone from us to score, they did everything else second half.

I was surprised Jorginho didn’t get more minutes end last season tbh. Obviously he has deficits and needs players and structure round him but man has won it all and was Ballon 3rd (even if that was generous ). I didn’t realise how likable and positive he was and what a good influence he looks to have. Hope his injury isn't going to be ongoing thing.

Problem was last season he played when Partey was injured. Like you said he needs the structure around him. He wasn't there to be cover for Xhaka because Xhaka was always available and playing outstanding. So when Jorginho came into our midfield to play with Xhaka as good as we looked in possession we were lacking legs far too much and were too vulnerable through the middle when we lost possession and when teams countered. Now we have a strong athletic guy in Rice next to him able to cover every blade of grass it allows Jorgy to do what he does best, the same as when he played next to Kante. Its an absolute joy to see him do what he is doing.

In the 2001/2002 season around this time of the season it was a 3 horse race. 1st Liverpool ,2nd United and Arsenal were 3rd , there was only 3-4 points separating 1st and 3rd. That year our second last fixture was against United and we won at Old Trafford 1 nil thanks to Wiltord winning us the title in the process. The current scenario is uncanny to that season. Let's hope history repeats itself.

I'm so glad Clive mentioned that Saka/Wenger video. It almost brings a tear to your eye watching it. You can tell Saka is so humble, listening and taking in every word Arsene is saying. Its like Bakayo went from a boy to a man in that short period listening to Wenger. We are so lucky to have a talent like him.

That point about Edu's interview was excellent. Toney is not the kind of player will get into this team. Hopefully there is a striker out there better than him who is available.

Agreed! Im sure there are hidden gems in south american that Edu can bring to the club. I'm not convinced by Toney. Not lethal enough. He's older which means no resale value and I just believe there are better options out there.

There's a huge and quite noticeable drop off now when we bring in Nketia & ESR (less obvious with Nelson). Our press, space coverage and tracking back are no way near the level we now play at As an example, watch ESR in the sequence that ended with the ball in our net... To your point guys, this is a much different level than last year. Not sure they cut it now

If you were to try to encapsulate Arsenal's play against Newcastle, it was oppressive. They dominated every facet of the game and simply didn't give Newcastle an opportunity to build up their style of play. It was less a football match and more like a Foosball exhibition. The interplay was so fast and so incisive the opposition simply had no chance to react. ❤😂

Elliot gassing up Emile but doesn't mention how he was jogging and lost his man (Willock) when we conceded. If he doesn't drastically improve his OOP play he is going to get shipped. Its unacceptable jogging when you are subbed in fresh compared to someone like Odegaard who plays every game and sprints to press and cove rin the 95th minutes of games.

Kiwior was my unexpected breakthrough pick start season and I had surrendered that to talk of not settling and not performing and off to Italy. He is our left CB cover and is getting better every game atm. Maybe Gabby was tempted by Saudi billions (or we were) Hope we don't sell him but impressive Kiwior might temp some at club if huge offervis out there?

Exactly, I hate Bruno G. Just like I hate Anthony, Richarlison etc. they’re thugs that don’t know how to actually play and resort to violence to show their petulance. There’s no way we are going in for Toney. I don’t even think they’re going to go for a striker, his words make me think they have different plans unless a good deal comes in for Eddie and they have to replace. We’ve basically played this season without Jesus and Partey.

@@NakulKrishnaagain with “what he transmits” What does Mbappe transmit? TAA, Vini, Foden. Were Bergkamp or Zidane shrinking violets? There’s levels of course but top players who are confident at this level are like this, are you seriously saying Guimares wouldn’t have something to contribute in this midfield? Sol Campbell was a pagan before he joined us then became a legend.

Saka wouldn't have scored if Havertz hadn't continued into the box after the [assist] pass to distract the two defenders tracking Saka - creating the space that allowed for an accurate shot. Also: who got the interception that started the process? No prizes for guessing. I predict that before too long, people will start regarding Havertz as a massive bargain signing.
