Allowing Kiwior to play to his strengths as a fullback and Ben White to invert is great move as it allows the team to be compact defensively. It was also awesome to see Rice help out Gabriel on the left after a couple of run ins and duels with the Burnley striker. This is what smart DMs do to limit the exposure of their defenders, that was a boss move right there.

@@Yt.1785 Kiwior is always available whereas Tierney is always injured. He currently has a relatively long term injury at Sociedad. Also, they're not like for like; Tierney is a classic full back who runs up and down the left flank whipping in crosses and hugs the sideline, whereas Kiwior is a centre back like White so he gives you strength, size and he's a far better defender than Tierney but he's also an amazing passer who has played CDM in Serie A. Either way, when Timber is back he will play there and he will be the new Cancelo imo but a better defender.

That’s bullshit. Kai havertz is a non entity in our midfield and attack. His first touch is awful. His distribution is awful. His finishing is awful. In a game against better opposition, Kai havertz is nowhere just like this game. Remember a goal doesn’t mean a good performance. Don’t use stats but use your eyes

Moreover, you have to look at all the goals he is starting of, most of the time he is one of the initializing factors. Stop hating and watch the game

Neto is a great player but we would be just adding to the long list of injury prone players. To challenge on all fronts next season, we need to detach from our emotional connections to our players and move on the ones who are more often than not unavailable. Get a strong bench with players that can impact the game state.

I have fancied Neto and you have a point but I just think you need to be careful when going to the market for backup players. Ideally you need a quality player who for some reason cant start as many games as your first choice otherwise you get into squad problems. For that reason I would love a striker that is fit enough and good enough to deputise Jesus into backup for any point of the attack. You can also use the city model where players share the minutes even when fit but I find that it stifles a players legacy if they dont get as many minutes as they would in any other team

I don't think it is a big issue. It's down to the characters we have in the squad and those that we decide to recruit. There are plenty of good players around who are playing in smaller leagues or teams. The draw of Champions League football is also a factor. We shouldn't be looking for backups. We should look for players who can challenge for a spot and bring different options to the table to tackle different game states and situations. There are a lot of minutes to go around and the demands of the modern game allows more than enough opportunities for game time to be spread around a squad. Look at Man City and how they always seem to be able to power through teams in the later parts of the season. Their players are rotated enough and are kept fresh to not run out of steam.

People are very deluded in not noticing that these goals are coming from a tweak in system by Arteta and have nothing to do with Jesus not being in the team. You will see once you start playing harder teams and can't score 5+ every game how you will turn on Trossard and Havertz. Trossard only peforms good when the team is perfoming good, Jesus is a game changer.

@@itshurtt395 In my opinion stats should never be prioritised over the eye test and what the stats are not showing is how many chances "clinical" players bury that Trossard (and all of arsenals attack tbh) don't. Arsenal's game plan seems to be dominate the oppositions half and hope for the lucky breakthrough or poor defensive action. How many goals can you count that arsenal have scored where it was a moment of class and nobody defending was in the wrong. We still need someone who makes that happen

I also don't understand how you can say arsenal gameplan is a "lucky breakthrough" you don't beat great teams/dominate teams In general through luck. We ain't 2nd and in the knockout stages through a gameplan based off luck or bad defensive actions and when the bad defensive actions happen it's due to our overwhelming pressure on their back line, constantly moving them and having them to think. People are easily fooled by an easy run of games and good perfomance. Trossard is not better than Jesus, you guys have played good games vs very poor teams bar Liverpool. Remember this same time when Nketiah was perfoming well and you guys even made a song for him "Nketiah in the room" claiming he was your new Henry. You dumped him as soon as he had one bad game and the same will happen to Trossard. once Jesus starts perfoming good from the bench theres no Striker in Arsenal good/consistent enough to keep him on the bench cause Jesus wins you tight games vs low block teams

Sometimes I feel like so many high profile Arsenal fans are not seeing how good Havertz has been for us. He's settling into the team well IMO. Rice has been outstanding but I think it's not a coincidence that Havertz was playing when we beat city twice this season

Thank you Adrian 🙏 I really wish people understand this. As sluggish as he seems, his movement is so hard to track by defenders. His runs are so timely. A recent example is the penalty call in Burnley game. His presence in the opposition box is more auspicious than G.Jesus' presence.

Great content as always Bhavvs - Kiwor has done really well, he is more of a physical presence than Zinchencko as well as a better defender. Using Ben White to invert form the right has not left us so open as when Zinchenko does it, and wanders all over the pitch. We are looking good as the fans are loud and proud again

It is never impossible except the hierarchy of arsenal does not see him fitting into their system. It only takes you to get Nketiah, Partey, Ramsdale, Elneny, Nelson, Cedric, Lokonga, Tierney and a whooping 750k or more bill is saved. Get a DM of Zubimendi or his likes for 100k and a backup goalkeeper for 60k a week and you have over 500k and the most you can do is add another 200k. So the maths is very doable. Thirdly, they are recouping half their money, if not 2/3rd of their expenditure on jersey sales as Mbappe is bringing his fans from other clubs to Arsenal. They strategize on preseasons and see the number of sponsors/TV rights/ fans who would travel just to see him play for a new club. Arsenal is the most talked about club in the world.

So, Mbappe. I think the club would very much have to play on the Henry comparison - maybe even getting him involved, to help sway Mbappe. However, even though there would be no transfer fee and massive shirt sales around the world, it feels like 500k wages should be the absolute ceiling to maintain some sort of financial balance. I think you could just about justify that to our other top players given those circumstances. Can't see him going anywhere else other than Real Madrid though.

If it was my decision in the summer, I'd go for a couple of players who can play at a very high level in a couple of positions, someone like Zubimendi in the midfield and Pedro Neto who can cover both wings. These 2 would be ideal in my opinion and they're both achievable as well, Zubimendi has an affordable release clause and Neto will probably have to be sold by Wolves to balance their books, the latter has plenty of Premier League experience so he'll fit in perfectly.

Number of goals aside, many positives from the Whu and Burnley games. Kiwior started the season a backup CB and probably 4th LB (after Zinchenko, Timber, Tomi), now a pretty good LB as ling as he's not asked to invert... great for depth eg UCL , and $ value *Havertz still not a £65m dollar player BUT he's rather functional in how we play eg winning many duels incl aerial ones, great work rate , has decent pace and mobile for a 6'4" guy! Dont mind being physical too! If he can score cloae to 10 goals would win some support and LOVE back from fans come end of season *the MF (and forwards as a result) regains much needed fluidity... was getting stagnant, walking pace and one dimensional around xmas and probably costed the losses (ie without creating goals)... the question is why? Zinchenko not playing? May be harsh but fact is. Zinchenko is slow, as an audience watching, often holding the ball stationary looks around, and look more ... before releasing the ball! By then, the opposition's defence would be all back in position and our forwards also stop making runs... rewatch the Dec games and you'd see it... *hopefully, Partey, Tomi, Jesus and Zinchenko (forget Timber, too early for an Acl) would be like new Jan signings come March and April PROVIDED at least Partey and Tomi arent going to play for their NTs during the international break... we have a MUST WIN, 6 POINTER after that !

Think James B said he's already on 900 000 pounds a week wages at PSG. So I don't think they'll be able to afford that. Also having such a megastar at the club might not be good for the dressing room dynamic eg. Aubamayang and also Ronaldo at United. Think the team is in a good place now. Just need a top striker but not at the cost of bankrupting the club or team synergy.
