That last bit you whispered is what is left from Rice to give. Jorginho has it in him and if he can coach that into Rice, my god we have a player on our hands who can do everything, he already can: Delivers class setpieces Can get on the the end of crosses Goal line clearances Crucial interceptions and tackles in the middle of the pitch An eye for goal, ready with his first touch (Chelsea away was an an audacious attempt as he took it first time) Driving runs from midfield into final third Backup CB option (did so in a CL game) Stopped a 5 v 1 counter attack with his aura (okay Liverpool should have scored but Declan makes all the right decisions in dealing with that play) All he needs is that aggressive line splitting pass in the final third and he is mint.

I was just thinking this exact thing! Not a single pundit has mentioned his price tag! This may sound stupid, but I KNEW, he would be fantastic for us. There was no doubt in my mind. I’ve watched him at West Ham and for England, especially last season, when the first rumors about a potential transfer to Arsenal came out. To me, he looked like everything we needed to strengthen not just our midfield, but the winning mentality. Mikel was right; Declan is a lighthouse.

9:27 lol good addition there. You're not wrong. For all his immense talent, this is something that Thomas still has over Rice. But Declan is improving in this regard. Another thing I noticed is that when he is traveling towards the center circle from the side of the pitch, sometimes he will break his marker by cutting towards our net instead of upfield. Thomas is good at breaking upfield. Very very minor things. Rice is a massive player for us already
@MattitudePlays
@MattitudePlays 2 ай бұрын
On the contrary though, I think there's a lot about Rice that Partey is missing. Partey is not as consistent performance wise. Partey is also not as consistent fitness wise. I also think he has a better attitude and work ethic. I think when Rice is 26 or 27 he'll be twice the player Partey is. No disrespect to Partey but when someone only plays a quarter of the available minutes I'm naturally going to start to rate them less

In 50 years of being a footy fan(I'm not an Arsenal fan btw,Sunday league😢),I can't remember such a stellar signing slotting in so well at a new club as instantaneously as Rice has done for Arsenal,his own game also raised somewhat.Value for money, he is unarguably the best £100 million signing the premier league has ever seen. Also worth mentioning in the same light is Trossard,I'm beginning to think that his £30 million price tag must have been the result of some sort of fraud,I read the other day that his goals per minute average is now only bettered by Henry and Van Persie,FFS! Arteta has pulled a couple of masterstrokes for them and I can see a few more teams getting spanked by them before the season is out. A team just consisting of Trossard,Rice,Odegaard,saliba and Saka would dismantle my entire team including the subs,they wouldn't need a goalie😂😂😂
@kanzaki2672
@kanzaki2672 2 ай бұрын
If I remember correctly, Trossard were involved in a conflict against his teammates in Brighton. Of course age is also factored in his price, maybe that's why they don't negotiate much and let him go at reasonable price. Turns out it was a steal for Arsenal, though.

Everything looks good right now, and I agree DC has been one of our best signings ever, but there is a difference when it is one match a week, and then we have to deal with the load of midweek games in addition. Rice had a blip towards the end of December, before the mini-break, and at this point I don’t know if it was a rare blip in form or more to do with fatigue. Being out of the domestic cups might help, because we have injuries and the squad is still a little incomplete.

Come to think of it nobody ever thought rice was this good. He’s time at west ham greatly understated his greatness. Don’t get me wrong he did well their but watching him play didn’t ring any bell per say other than he was a good defensive player. He wasn’t spectacular. If this version of rice was the version in west ham I can guarantee you that rice would most probably be playing in Madrid.

Best way I can sum up Rice’s impact is that most Gooners will tell you he was a bargain. At £105 million. His worst performance level is 7/10. You missed another tackle against Liverpool where he waltzed over and TOOK the ball back with so much casual authority his body language screamed ‘give me that fucking ball back you impudent cretin’. His set-piece deliveries have been a definite surprise.

Yeah that line-breaking pass is coming. One of the most important connections Rice is developing now is to Ødegaard. Watch their dynamics, both during and between plays. They're making themselves available to passes from the other. It's a vertical relationship on the pitch that will only develop further, and will become the most important in the squad.

@@denisdowling3971I believe he'll mature into a more indispensable member of the team because he'll have too many qualities that will allow him play in different ways depending on our opponent. I used to associate him with being a hardworker and some kind of juggernaut on the pitch. But he is developing into an artist. Skilful and even smooth player.

I feel like Arteta (or any decent manager) is going to publically go to bat and say "he will..." for any huge signing like this, regardless of if they acually have doubts or not. I can't think of a time I've seen a manager say "yeah, he might do well for us, that's why I bought him. Guess we'll all find out together" Rice is amazing but predictions like making us more physical. improve those around him, be a lighthouse are intangible and/or may not be 100% cause and effect

Rice is a badman. Such a huge, proud signing. I Noticed early on he’d knock it out for throw ins or corners more readily than usual, and realised that’s normal at a club more under the cosh..but alongside his other insane my good attributes, he grows more and more confident and dominant as time goes on!

Declan Rice has clearly been at the top level for years. It was obvious. Now he's world class. He should and will be our captain and will be England's too at some point. If we don't win the league in the next two years he'll be gone to a club where he can win the top prizes regularly. Thank god City did not get him in the summer or they'd been untouchable. Fantastic player

@@Steve-pk9et I dont know what football world you're living in but in mine where I've watched and played this game Declan Rice is obviously a world class talent . The only person who would in any way argue that is someone who supports any team other than Arsenal and who has very little knowledge of what makes a top player. So as you're so offended you can list the loads of players in his position that are at his age and stage much better than him?....Go on, I'm listening .....name them....??

@gspianoguitar4369 I live in a football world where the term 'world class' is used very loosely, but if you can name another 'world class' player who's only won the Europa Conference League then I'll happily stand corrected. How long do you think you'll need to think of one and shall I wait here? 🤣

I've asked you to name me the long list of players who are better than him in his position, at his age, at his stage of developement, an established international player across the world of football today??? You have not done that, you think instaed you can be smart arsed ...but c'mon, you've disparaging laughed ot loud at his 'class' (in two posts) so name your list ?? C'mon do it? lets hear them? An AFTV pundit just days ago reckoned RICE isn't World Class, how can anyone, least an Arsenal fan, dribblle such drivel! He plays in the most difficult, most demanding, most competitive, strongest league in football, by some distance and is the MOTM 80% of the games. Putting in performances of mostly 8+ every game and he has recently added assists to his game by taking superb corners/freekicks. The Man is a hybrid of a Monster and a Machine, whose legs propel out like a Chameleon's tongue, nicking the last bit of your croissant.

It's a shame that he's not even half as good as the real world class treble winner Rodri as if he was then he would of joined big UCL winning club Man City winning trophies. But sadly he's not so instead he joined small club Arsenal where along with Artetas other 26 signings he'll win nothing under him. 4 years and counting.... RIP Declan Rices career xx
