Well, the season is not over yet, so it's a bit premature to be talking about holding words, (think people need to calm down and land a bit) but it's looking good so far. But yeah, I think the biggest credit you can give to Mikel is that he's come in as a rookie manager and hasn't been afraid to tackle the backroom politics with authority and conviction, which is EXTREMELY hard for any manager coming into any sort of working environment less accomplished than even some of the players he managed out, to do.

There is nothing wrong in doubting Arteta. He is a rookie who has had three years to make mistakes and learn. Fans have had to go through some heart breaks as well during his time here too. I mean the humiliation of not being in Europe for the first time in Arsenal's history is just one example i can pick. He even admitted he had doubts about himself being a manager in the All but nothing documentary after the City loss. Well done to him for learning faster. We as fans need to calm down and relax. It's just 7 to 8 games played already. I remember chelsea being close to Pool and City in the first half of last season and it went downhill for them in 2nd half. Lets enjoy it while it last.

He played well last season too. But not to the level he is now. Second half of last season was when Arteta switched his position. With the inclusion of the new signings into the team, it seems xhaka has developed a better understanding of the position Arteta wants him to play.
