I love your beautiful art quilts! I plan to do one from one of my own pictures. I’ve been saving various pictures in albums and will hopefully decide which one to do soon! You’ve gifted us with incredible tools to do it ourselves. I have bought your iQuilt class and love it. I rarely like the music in videos but this one is fabulous! Thank you for your generosity in teaching us!! I just finished a wall hanging of tulips (Terry Zygar) with free motion background and that was such fun. I am so looking forward to my flower quilt!

Do you attach the tiny cut out pieces to steam-a-seam after they have been cut out, or do you attach steam a seam to for example s fat quarter, and then cut it out?

I fuse the fabric first then cut out the shapes

I like this process. However, I wish she could have shared the products she used to keep the fabric down. The music was distracting.

Oh my …..so sorry you found the music distracting. That happens for me quite often as well. But I LOVE that song! And her voice. So I immediately went to Amazon and ordered a used copy of the album. Love the dahlia quilt. It’s so beautiful 🦋

The Dahlia is my favorite and I have a photo of one of my prized ones from a few years ago. You said this was easy, so I might try it, although if you do have a pattern available, I would be tempted to go that route. My color pallet is purple, pink and orange. Hummmph, where do I even start?

This quilt was destroyed in the Paradise Fire Nov 2018. It took my house, studio lots of quilts, and the town of Paradice, California. there is a KZfaq about it. That is why I can show you the finished quilt.

Melinda, if the Steam-a-Seam 2 is old (~5+ years) and kept in plastic sleeve, will it be ok? Thanks!

Yes. Use steam to adhere it to your fabric. The steam reactivate the sticky.
