@@_ur.the.euphoria_both kooleen and him are not really good at givng art advices. better off go listen to actual professionals like sinix, proco, moderndayjames they're videos have more structure and information. The knowledge they provide are 10x better and can be used in the long run. As theyy say know the rules before you break them. Amateur tutorial might leas other artists to develop bad habits.

@@oliverhfierm5180 Drawing a lot usually is the key, but here are the basics you can actively and passively work on, including some tips I feel like every beginner artist should know: Active skills: 2D Shapes. Yes, the basic of basics, but if you think about it, any 3d shape is just a bunch of 2d shapes drawn in a particular way to give the illusion of 3d. Simply grasping the understanding of 2D shapes is essential to creating 3D ones. Don't underestimate the basics, cause unless you master them, there will always be something fundamentally wrong with your drawings. 3D Shapes. You want to practice 3D shapes enough to where you can do them as easily as breathing. If you think about it, anything and everything is made up of basic 3D shapes; though some more complex than others. If you can bend any 3D shape to your will, including quite literally twisting and morphing any shape into something you want, then you'll be able to create anything and everything you desire, so long as you have the knowledge and observation skills to go with it. Perspective. Now things start getting tricky here. Mainly, you want to get good at either One Point Perspective or Two Point Perspective, but it's helpful to know how to both. By doing Perspective, it levels up your 3D shapes to a whole new level, and gives your drawings a level of depth you can't ever achieve unless you master this skill. Passive Skills: Observation. This is one of the things that separates new artists from professional ones. Being able to break down a complex object into simple shapes is essential to creating anything you want, and one of the most important skills every self-respecting artist has. Line Confidence & Line Control. This is another thing that is extremely important to artists of every type; and arguably the single most important skill to have. It's self explanatory and this skill is best obtained passively; through tens of thousands of strokes on a piece of paper / tablet. Visual Library: This is something you can only achieve through using references and observing something so many times you can recall the information from memory. This is the secret as to how artists draw without reference images: Because they used so many reference images that they've essentially permanently imprinted itself into their mind. Unless you're professional, you should ALWAYS use reference images, and if you aren't, you're doing yourself a disservice. You cannot draw the inside of an engine without knowing what it looks like, and unless you've seen it so many times that you've memorized each individual part of it and where it goes, keep using reference images until you reach that point. This is what it means to have a vast visual library. Extra: Tip #1: Don't ever compare yourself to other, more experienced, artists. It's great to know your end goal, but the only person in the entire world you should compare yourself to is yourself. So long as your art / projects look better than the one you did a few weeks ago, then you're heading in the right direction. Learning art is not a race, it's a VERY long marathon. Pace yourself accordingly, and take one step at a time and all around just have fun with it. Don't turn it into something you hate. Tip #2: Learn something to make something. If your want to make a human figure, learn the proportions of the body. If you want to create a tree, learn texture. If you want to make still life, learn composition. For every image you create, try learning something new. Tip #3: Follow art creators for tips and directional pointers, such as Marc Brunet or others you come across. When you watch a video, make sure to put it into practice as soon as possible or you risk forgetting about it and learning nothing. This goes great with Tip #3: Learn something from an art creator(something you're about to make BEFORE you attempt it), then put it into practice right after when you're more knowledgeable. Tip #4: At some point you'll feel like you're not making any progress, but fret not. Art is explosive, and you'll learn and improve a LOT the first few weeks / months, but after that it'll feel as if you're slowing down. The reality of it is you're still improving at the same rate as you were, but the changes aren't immediately obvious. 30% of your efforts will be spent becoming 70% proficient in your skills, and the other 70% effort will be spent bridging the last 30%. Tip #5: It's NEVER too late to start drawing. If it's something you truly want to learn, then just start and have fun. It's about the journey, not the destination. Don't be discouraged if you see 13 years olds drawing better than you do. You just started drawing, they've been drawing for most their life. Never compare yourself to someone else, unless you want to kill your passion. Art is a very difficult thing to learn, and will take months before you start feeling like you're actually getting good at. The best thing to do is just keep going; even if it's only for 15-30 minutes a day. So long as you're making progress, and you're better than you were a few weeks ago, then it's only a matter of time before you get where you want to be. Most of all: Have fun with it. Once you start getting good at art, you'll become more serious in your efforts, and that's not always a good thing. ALWAYS make sure to spend some time having fun in midst of all the learning, or you'll burn yourself out fast. P.s, You can start drawing whatever you like. Whether it's something as simple as a box, or something as complex and advanced as the human body. Start wherever you like, but be realistic in expectations. You cannot expect to be a professional chef after watching a bunch of cooking shows; you need to put it into practice. As you learn new things, drawing super complex objects becomes easier and easier. If you want to improve human figures as a complete newbie; the answer isn't to create a hundred more figures, but to understand and improve the bare basics.

@@oliverhfierm5180 Don't listen to anyone but yourself, that was completely uncalled for and rude. Just continue to have fun and don't listen to what people think. Don't let other peoples judgement put you down, and don't rely on other peoples opinions on your art as a source of validation or seek that praise. If your enjoyment comes from other peoples validation of your efforts, then you won't last long. You're drawing for YOURSELF, don't forget that. It's fine to show others your art, but don't make something to show off; make something because you wanted to make it. And it's a great thing to hear criticism, so long as it's constructive and not mean-spirited. I.e: "I like this drawing, but the hands / face looks weird." You can use the criticism as a way to know which areas you need to improve in, and is completely different than something like: "This drawing is okay I guess, but she / he is ugly." This does not tell you where you can improve and generally comes off as mean-spirited and can diminish ones pride in their work. Most of all, don't forget that you're still learning. It's easy to forget that the art you see on Twitter or DeviantArt is people who has YEARS, sometimes DECADES of experience and mastered every art fundamental, while you're still learning what the fundamentals even are. Even the great Leonardo Da Vinci had to start learning somewhere, and I bet you he started with learning how to draw basic shapes like you are doing now. The main difference between you and him is the amount of lines the two of you drew, so keep at it. The longer you have fun with drawing, the further you'll go, so prioritize yourself and your enjoyment over everything else.
