I love the look of your studio with those breathtaking sketches of figures hanging on the wall. It gives an impression of what a Renaissance painter's studio would have looked like. What a wonderful place to work and what a beautiful seascape!

With the warm monochrome tones of your studio, your skin tone and white dress alongside the cool colours of the landscape, the video's thumbnail looks like a surrealistic painting of a person, peering out through a hole in the wall onto another world just beyond the confines of the room.

Landscapes is indeed an awesome topic to work on. Personally I haven't drawn a lot of landscapes so can't go in technicalities as usual but visual this landscape was a treat to watch. One thing that I liked about it was missing light reflection on waves since sky above is cloudy. Usually most seascapes have it, sometimes even one having clouds have them lol but I'm glad you paid attention to that minute details too. Keep up the good work Carly and God bless you :D

Love the painting 😍….but I’m just impressed with the fact that you can wear a white dress and not get any paint on you ! … I usually have to change into a whole set of old clothes especially if I’m painting with oils😅

Happy New Year Carly! When you mentioned in a previous video you were thinking of going down the landscape route, I was thrilled, being a bit of a landscape photographer. I love your seascape and when I saw the footage of the framing, the canvas looked even bigger than when you were painting it. If you are looking for some other landscape inspiration, Andrew Marr, a landscape photographer based in Perth, has some incredible work from Western Australia, including the Pilbara and featuring many seascapes. I bet you’re glad to not have to censor a seascape. All the very best for 2024.

Very nice! Careful using those turps and solvents indoors. Lots of ways to avoid it. Using linseed or walnut oil to clean brushes works great.

Looking at her standing before the beautiful sea, an ocean she created, one cannot help be taken back by the beauty of sea and its creator. Mother Nature has many forms, there are many renditions within this video. Add to that her sultry voice and we are taken on a trip across the sea, on angels wings. I wonder what is waiting on the other side? Perhaps she will let us see within her next masterpiece. I love the direction you've taken goddess. Towards the sea and its infinite color schemes...

i'm curious if there is a reason for painting on a canvas that isn't mounted on a frame or if it's just a personal preference. i have been thinking of trying that out. lovely work as always 💕

I had a thought: are you familiar with the Tonalist movement from the late 19th to early 20th century? If not, you may find some interest there. There was also a somewhat related Australian Tonalist movement in the early 20th century.

The horizon should be very slightly curved at each end. Curvature of the earth.

not true. maybe in a photograph, due to lens distortion. but in reality the curvature is imperceptible unless it's an extremely wide angle of view.

Quant à tes nuages, ils sont trop réalistes, c'est bien fait, même très justement fait, mais un peu de couleurs pastels(rose, mauve ou orange) donneraient plus de lumière à ces beaux nuages !?
