Genius Pro by Artillery is the new TPU printing champion in my 3D printing collection (between 15 different 3D printers). Main reason is the Titan direct drive extruder. In this video I was able to 3D print Benchy using the same gcode prepared for PLA (only raised the temperatures and reduced fan speed). Another specification is that this is also the quietest printer between all my machines. Artillery is listening for feedbacks and several improvements are visible on this printer, compared to previous generation. In this video you can see the unboxing, assembling and 3D printing (PLA and TPU).

I am searching for a quiet small 3D printer and I can say that your videos are the one of the best. You show raw footage and your review is precise. I hate these videos, when they only show their own face rambling and fast forwarding with music instead of printer sound.

I'm pretty new to 3D printing and have been absorbing a huge amount of your videos. You're very clearly and honest in your reviews and technical advice, l love my Ender 3 V2 and get reasonable results with TPU, that's the main filament l use (for drone parts) but also use P L A and PETG. You have 100% sold me on this printer, it will definitely be my next purchase when l add my next printer. Thank you very much for the excellent content you provide to us, greetings from Australia!

Excellent video as always!! I have an Artillery Genius (the first version), and I haven't used it for printing tpu because I fear that I might break the glass for excesive adhesion. Did you find any problems with this? Do you have any recommendation?? Thanks a lot for your help in advance!

By now I have run several Genius V1's for about seven months of 24h/7 work with no problems, they are very reliable and easy and quick to work with, they require only minimum maintenance, mostly just cleaning- and a nozzle change. Way better than my Ender 3 pro.
@MyTechFun
@MyTechFun 2 жыл бұрын
I have only SW X1, I had some small issues with it, but most of them are eliminated now (on both X2 and Genius Pro). Only I am not happy that extruder don't have more improvements, too plasticy, hard to set the tension etc.
@joseico90
@joseico90 2 жыл бұрын
@@MyTechFun I have had zero issues with these extruders, even though they are plasticky. I did put thermal paste of the heatsinks and alu tape at the bottom of them so the fan doesn't blow downwards. They just work..and I use cleaning filament when needed, no problems at all and I run them pretty much 24/7.

Can you show the mount of the BL Touch in greater detail? The placement is very close to the nozzle. I think there might be a way to use the spot for Sidewinder X1 retrofit

Short question: In the Cura settings you didn't change the Start G-code. Maybe i'm confusing something but i think i read somewhere that you are supposed to add M420 S1 so that the printer uses the saved EProm Settings? Or did am i misremembering something or did i misunderstood it?

I wish I got this instead of my ender 3V2, it's much more complete. So far I've had to add ferrules to high amperage cables (this has them already), yellow springs, CR touch, BTT smart filament sensor, Dual Z without belt, all metal extruder and capricorn tubing but still thinking about converting it to direct drive, Jyers firmware to get it all working..... I think overalls it cost me more haha. The speed of the motors seem lot faster too, the Z axis is like 3X the speed of the Ender V2

@MyTechFun
@MyTechFun 2 жыл бұрын
No, 115C is too much. 50-60C is enough, make sure that ved is clean (soap or window, glass cleaner). 230-240C for filament. Retraction minimal.

Thank you for the great review! I think this will be my next (1st) printer for the TPU )) is there a way to upgrade nozzle cooling in order to avoid those seams on the other side?
@MyTechFun
@MyTechFun 2 жыл бұрын
I think better cooling will not reduce seams (better cooling is good for overhang and less stringing). But I noticed that I have smaller seams when I use PrusaSlicer. This means it is possible, only Cura needs a lot of more experimenting..

As a mechanical engineer i have some bad feelings about the belt system and the 2 stepper motor at the same time. Won't it overconstrain the whole system ?
@thelightspeed3d712
@thelightspeed3d712 2 жыл бұрын
As a backyard engineer... no. All it does is ensure the Z axis' stay in alignment. They are not needed in most cases but are there for the people that are new. This only has 1 driver for both motors. So its important they stay together. But the leadscrews are decoupled from the axis so it isn't constrained anyway

Does it really have a BLTouch as you say, or is it a clone? Other thing is that I learned the carriage wheels are not supposed to be so tight you cannot turn them by hand. If they are, you will get a lot of wear very fast. My advise would be to set them so you could just barely rotate them with your fingers while holding the carriage.

I can’t believe they put the same plastic Idler-arm on the extruder again.. the aluminium version is dead cheap, because so many people bought it after the plastic one is broken. I had a lot trouble with the genius and still have.. the extruder gear is slipping so easy on petg, that I need to print slower than normal, so the volcano hotend is pretty much useless. I also rewired the whole machine after the first flat cable connector gave up. There are tons of videos about inconsistent layers on the sidewinder and genius ..sometimes it’s the extruder, sometimes the top belt, sometimes the motor alignment. Good luck:)

@@tomsenq My experience was not good, so what now? I'm not allowed to write about it? If a company is doing an update on a machine, is it not okay to wonder, why they didn't address an issues a lot people had with it, specially when it's a three dollar part? I can write a full article of what's not so good with this printer, but it's cheap, so I can understand that some parts are not perfect.
