Great video. More tips will be: Visible prices at your products. Make sure your table do not feel empty. Get your helper go in front of your table, from time to time, to pretend to be a buyer when there is no one at your table.

@@vulpipunk yeah I did my first artist allay this year and was extremely underestimating the setup. Gotten so much help from other artists there. Gave me advice about pricing, display and a whole bunch of other stuff. Although my fist event was a fail in sales wise, I have gotten so much advice and experience ot was well worth it.

@@Lovevamps_Creations on man the first faikure is tough BUt it is great learning experience. You will only get better each time you table and keep applying the different advice that works for you over time. ❤️

Con organization is SUPER IMPORTANT! Last con we went, Artist Alley was being used as a corridor, people weren't even looking the tables, just passing through and it got extremely crowded and my autistic boyfriend couldn't handle it. He started feeling real bad and we ended up not being able to see all the artists. Sadly. We really wanted to buy more stuff 😂

Thanks for sharing your experiences! I think hallway artist allies are the worst. The artist paid to be there so to be placed where they can hardly be seen is just so unfair. Sucks you were unable to get more from them 😔

I checked the video for the info. I stayed for your personality. A lot of wonderful info AND you clear put aa lot of effort into the quality of your video. As someone who's finally taking the dive into being a full time artist after the business I work for announced it was closing with my bosses retirement, this video was very helpful! And it's nice to see other artists also starting out. I hope one day to see you at a Con. :)

so glad to have come across this video today, a local art center where i live is having its first convention/artist alley in february and a guy who works there reached out to me about the possibility of tabling at the artist alley. i’m flattered and it sounds like an exciting opportunity but i’m also anxious bc i’m still in art school (almost finished tho 🤞🏽😫🤞🏽) so i’ve never done anything like it before, i’m a traditional artist with barely any digital knowledge/skill, most of my work is fanart, and i’m 29 💀

Aye that is excited for the convention opportunity! Just take your time putting everything together, start simple especially since it is a year one event. Since you are a traditional artist you could sell your originals there or make prints of them at a Walgreens or staples of the pieces you have made/make. Heck yeah good luck on your testing! Be sure to check convention rules for table heights when you do. Some cons/events will have a limit on table heights for safety reasons.

Thank you so much for this video! I want to do cons in the future and to hear the POV from someone who buys from the cons really helps a lot. I hadn't thought about how to properly set up a booth and how they could blend with other booths, so that gave a small, 'OH, actually...' moment. :D

@@vulpipunk Most videos will usually say if it was a profitable con or if the staff was good or bad. You went into depth about layouts, the feel of the rooms. Then gave additional information about booths, what the con seemed to gravitate towards, what helps and what makes them stand out, and let them give their personal opinions about what would help new folks. I also loved how you chose newer/smaller artists to showcase 💜 Sorry if my reply is garbly, got a headache right now 🙃

I'm so glad you made this video! I have been waiting on wasabi con registration to open in New Orleans and started to feel skeptical.. So good to see how its going in other places

I cant tell if registration is open or not, but they released the table prices. Sadly its to expensive for me so i wont be attending@@vulpipunk

Sang! Maybe next time around. I know in the past they have allowed artist to share tables. If you have a friend who also sell their work you could split the cost. Still double check with the organizers if they are doing that though 😩

my table color palette is a mess lol 😅 my character wears earthy tones while my table uses pastel pinks blues and purples 😅 i gotta change it next time

Interesting combo of colors! Depending on the earthy tones used you could use the pastel blues or maybe a creamy tone for your table to help those colors pop 🤔 Maybe you could find a color pallet using some of your colors and work from there for your table. 🎨

That I am unsure. But that is a great question to add to my interview list! I did not vend at this event but I do plan on applying for next year. So I will much sure to share once I know
