This information session about Forecast's grants for public artists was led by Aki Shibata on August 16, 2022. Forecast provides grants to Minnesota-based early- and mid-career public artists. We fund public art projects and research & development. The session covers detailed information about Forecast’s grants, how we define public art, and tips for writing your grant. Apply by October 3, 2022 for our 2023 grants.
Need more support or unable to attend the next info session (Sunday, September 4, 2022)? We’ve got you covered! Applicants are invited to drop in for a one-on-one with Aki in September, join us for interactive artist talks with current grantees, and to reach out for writing feedback. Aki is ready to chat with you about your grant Qs and will provide feedback up to the week before applications are due. Contact Aki at aki@forecastpublicart.org. Learn more at bit.ly/FPAgrants
We seek to fund a diverse group of artists working in all career stages and ranges of public art practices and media and place particular emphasis on supporting and amplifying the artistic work of BIPOC and Native artists, LGBTQIA+ artists, womxn artists, immigrant artists, artists from rural communities, and artists with disabilities.
It is our value that our applicants, panelists, and grantees reflect the racial, cultural, gender, artistic, physical ability, and geographic diversity of Minnesota and the 11 Native nations that share the same geography, and the stories and perspectives of the artists and communities we serve.
