I draw clouds often in architectural illustrations. They are a fascinating subject, often portrayed like anything sold, with a light side and dark side, but they they reflect the ground below, with the undersides warmer grays than the tops, and the sunlight bounces around inside them, with reds getting absorbed and blue light emitting from the deeper parts like cerulean blue lightning, especially on summer days with towering cumulus. They grow thick and become dark and ominous, and when they are thin, they refract light like a lens, becoming brighter than anything else in the scene, and a light source of their own. They are very much a living creature with personalities, unique traits, moods, and tempers.
