Jodeci were doing vocal stacking on their first album, which came out way before brandys..the Hailey brothers and Devante swing were some of the first to incorporate vocal stacking in production.

Ariana adores Brandy. she tweeted (in a now long forgotten, probably deleted tweet) in 2013 that Whitney Houston and Brandy were her #1 and #2 all-time favorite singers and biggest influences. It was right after Brandy's unreleased song "Cigarette" leaked on YT I remember it clear as day (yes I am old lol)
