@@userk7dy love red velvet, but they haven't done something creepy _like this_. their creepiness is way more subtle or quirky sometimes, never this eerie; both (artms' birth and rv's peek-a-boo, russian roulette, chill kill) are dramatic, but still very different in tone. chill kill is like 'the shining', birth is like 'hereditary', both great, but *very* different.

i know orbits (ourii and cloo included) say this a lot but genuinely nothing like this has ever been done before. no dancing cuts, no performance aspect. rarely a kpop music video at all, everything from the sets to the incredible art is like a picture from a storybook (a really messed up one, but still). this is such a a unique and incredible concept, one that is fitting for their debut. they're more mature now, with more to offer and i can't wait to see what comes next for them.

Pre-debut LOONA was the reason I wanted to go to art school and get into photography and videography. Last september I finally took the plunge and decided to enrol myself in photography. Now with ARTMS, this music video along with their concept is exactly where I'd like to see myself in the future. This isn't like generic kpop. This is what I'd genuinely describe as artistic and experimental. Wauw. Hope to one day be working for a label like Modhaus.

when i got into loona i quickly started to realize how many artists we have within the fandom. i know it’s quite common to basically any famous kpop group to have fanart made abt them but the ammount we orbits have is massive. from outstanding video edits and lore videos to drawings and paintings to the amazing photographers at the fansites to even having zsunder who went out to being hired to produce songs for other kpop groups. basically every orbit i’ve met is a graphic designer (lol) it’s a extremely art-driven and (very well) art-fed community. you’re in the right place and i’m wishing all the best for you and i know you’ll accomplish all you dream of. ❤

This might sound strange, but this song sounds like if I put mental illness to music. I know that the intended theme is an unsatisfactory romantic relationship, but this really feels like a conversation between me and my inner demons, namely in the form of depression and social anxiety. I wonder if anyone else feels the same way because when I view it from that lens, it makes the lyrics somehow even more heartbreaking. I don't say any of this to glamorize mental illness, but the way. I just feel so weirdly seen in the lyrics here 😌

This came out right after a significant lunar event. That really reminds me of the good old pre-debut days of looking at the calendar expecting for Loona to drop something because that day had a specific lunar phase. Jaden was truly committed to the concept and lore of Loona, too bad BBC wasn't.

I know. Like I mentioned up the comments, the wide artistic abilities the Loona veterans occupy is impressive. I’m so glad Birth won because if any of the other songs won it would’ve been so generic because it’s been done before. LOONA is known for their wide range and I’m so glad Artms’ Birth is going to be added to that range and expanding the variety that LOONA is known for. Not only the music but the concepts and creative direction will always be unique.

너무 좋아서 함박웃음밖에 안 나옴 누가 이런 컨셉을 짰는지 희진이 저벅저벅 뚜벅뚜벅 성큼성큼 걸어오는 게 심장을 찢음.. ㅋㅋ 광염 받아먹는 씬은 아무리 생각해도 어떻게 만들어내고 기획한건지 감도 안 잡힌다....... 마지막까지 몰입 안 놓치고 보고 다섯명끼리 어떤 서사를 써내려갈지도 기대됩니다....... ㅋㅋ... ㅋㅋ 진짜 너무 좋다 음악도 잘 맞고 리퀴드 디엔비스러운것도 맘에 들고.. 프리 베이스도 압도감 쩌네요오..

Im not sure about the lore but is it like The Horn Goddess is being reborn as ARTMS? You can see her corpse being divided into 5 pieces in the MV so each piece came to Earth as ARTMS members. And she's trying to gather them together to become whole again?

They’re still a part of Loona, but because of legal reasons they had to separate, resulting in the idols having to be split up between different companies. Oh my days this song is genuinely everything I’ve been missing in kpop. Actually interesting concepts, genuinely experimental music, and inciting real emotions within me. The art and videography unsettled me, but I was also so excited as we saw new sonic ideas being introduced throughout the song. I’m now even more excited for the album!!

When Haseul sings “love me, it’s a gift” it sounds like she’s being forced to say it, as if through a stifled sob. When Choerry sings “hate me, it’s a gift” it sounds like a soothing spell, an effortless exhale of relief. I’m not okay 👍🏼

Birth is a good first pre-release song with a good music video. It's creepy. I like that they returned to the iconic subway car. The birth of ARTMS is the birth of one of my favorite groups, just as LOONA was.
