I remember my korean friend at school introduced me to starcraft around 2004. "Futuristic age of empires" he called it. Then his dad would show us the pro games on korean TV. Never seen anything like it.

I honestly prefer chill RT to angy saltmine RT. Dunno why, but this feels a whole lot more... cohesive.

A bit late to see this, but this was really fun to watch. I love Artosis Casts, but it’s really cool to see the watch party format for old series.

Two gate observer was super common because vulture / mine rush was almost guaranteed to happen

(self professed crush on Reach the manliest protoss player, acording to the lore, mantoss) CholeraSC KlazartSC (very fast speech, presumably a writer now?) Moletrap (casting from his car while parked in the university for the wifi, went to Korea) Rise and his buddy, forgot name. Vault (quit casting bw, some drama about his warhammrr 40k preferences) Some others too, cant recall but I am grateful for the content.

I think my all time favorite Brood War game is when KT and SKT played each other and it came down the final game. If you search kt vs skt ace match it should be the first video to come up. Im a huge Bisu fan, he is my all time fav BW player. It was Bisu vs Flash. Flash set up a siege behind Bisu's mineral line which forced Bisu to stop mining from one of his bases. He managed to break the siege. Then Flash came back with a siege again and Bisu counterattacked. Then Flash went back to defend and Bisu had set up units to catch flash's reinforcements and he ended up beating Flash.

Reach was my favorite protoss player, still remember watching his matches on tv back in the early 2000s

So many younglings not realizing this is how we used to watch every game. With potatoe quality. Slower builds, games were usually a bit longer back then.

Feelbad for the older pros sometimes. They got pushed out after like 4-5 years. Current pros have been going strong for 15-20 years.

Something I'd like to see are matches that resulted in certain things being banned from play, like toggling allying your opponent. I don't know if the vods of those games are still around.

Couldn't the Terran win the first game by just building a few wraiths? Those carriers were roaming the map completely unsupported.

Artosis is so bad at Broodwar. He needs to cast it only, not play it.

actually it isn't because they're supposed to be somewhere else, they cover their face when the camera is on them because in korea, outside of the entertainment industry, when the camera goes on you, it's because you're a criminal. there's shame associated with it because that "look at this guy" camera shot is what they use to highlight and accentuate the fact that you are looking at a criminal.
