I use the heavy body (aka structure) Matisse paints. They are thick but I just water them down. You can add a fair amount of water to the paint before you affect their structural integrity. And you can also use a coat of varnish to protect and “bond” the paint to the surface of the canvas when you are finished if you are worried about long term issues.

@@ClairBremnerArt @ministryofhome I don't use water Ministry either people of that, but you can use small amounts. I'm not sure if helps, but I use open medium mm31 not only to make the paint feel amazing! (it goes all creamy and spreads gorgeous) but it extends drying time, and because it has binder in it, you are not playing with the integrity of the paint, so can even use it for semi glazing. That's what I understand of it anyway, of course, I'm no expert but if you're worried like I am (especially when people pay big bucks for your work and want to give them quality) it may be something to do a little research on :) give you options anyways. I LOVE Derivan paints! and all the mediums and the way they explain the chemical make up and details about their paint helps your process SO much, understanding how your medium/paint works makes it mroe4 of an extension of the brush rather than a prodding by it. ps: always lovely videos Clair :)

No I don’t attach them to panels, I just sell the artworks on paper as they are
