LYRICS:
I see a pain behind your eyes,
I know you feel it everyday.
It’s like a light that slowly dies,
but it’s better not to say such things out loud.
Just close your eyes and bite your tongue for now.
Don’t let them see you fall.
Stay strong,
hold on,
you’ve got to keep it together now.
Just dry your eyes,
‘cause boys don’t cry.
You feel an emptiness inside,
how it sinks into your soul.
But it’s nothing you can’t hide;
just forget about the hole beneath your skin that’s swallowing the best of you within.
Don’t let them see you fall.

@AOMechMarine AOMechMarine Sorry you are afraid of crying. It's a terrible thing when we can't express our emotions, especially the painful ones. Trust me though, keeping them bottled up will only make things worse. It will numb you. It will depress you. It will break you. And eventually all of those emotions will come boiling over anyways. Real strength is having the courage to face those emotions head on. No mater how painful they are. Accept them and let them go.

This song has a very strong message about what society says is acceptable for boys to do. Like they can't wear makeup, like cute things, be "soft", or cry. Even though forcing people to live by this is not only toxic but a type of emotional abuse because you are hurting them in ways that are not visible on the surface. I love this song for that reason

The lead singer reminded me of something but I wasn't able to tell what it was until I checked other songs of them and I realised that 3 years ago I used to listen to them. I was in the middle of my pop punk phase and I was subscribed to Patty's channel. I used to love his covers and when he stopped uploading videos because As It Is signed Fearless I checked them out. I liked them but then my pop punk phase went to end and I started listening other types of music...anyway I can't believe that i've totally forgot about them in these 3 years😅 (also they look so different how the hell could I recognize Patty😂). Now that I listen literally everything (including pop punk) I found them again and after I've listened to this album I want to say that their new sound is amazing. I don't like so much their old songs, but I really appreciate their changing: bands usually goes more pop but this went more "emo"... I love it

@EmperorNero 5 жыл бұрын
1. Toxic Masculinity isn't really a thing it's a myth largely portrayed by activist, and academics. 2. It is very clearly about mental health. Men struggle with achieving help with mental health, mainly, because men in their biological social dynamic hold cards close to them, they don't like opening up. It is always said women are very open inherently, but men take awhile they are like a cat, you gotta earn it. 3. However that is largely exaggerated men do cry and can be emotional what research needs to be done better is how men express emotion, it may not be with tears(biologically we have larger tear ducts than women do). I personally suffer from depression, and I don't cry with it I get frustrated, because I don't want to be that way. Men express sadness through anger a lot more than tears.

Full lyrics for everyone: I see a pain behind your eyes, I know you feel it everyday. It’s like a light that slowly dies, but it’s better not to say such things out loud. Just close your eyes and bite your tongue for now. Don’t let them see you fall. Stay strong, hold on, you’ve got to keep it together now. Just dry your eyes, ‘cause boys don’t cry. No, no, ‘cause boys don’t cry. No, no, ‘cause boys don’t cry. You feel an emptiness inside, how it sinks into your soul. But it’s nothing you can’t hide; just forget about the hole beneath your skin- That’s swallowing the best of you within. Don’t let them see you fall. Stay strong, hold on, you’ve got to keep it together now. Just dry your eyes, ‘cause boys don’t cry. No, no, ‘cause boys don’t cry. No, no, ‘cause boys don’t cry. Keep it all inside ‘Cause boys don't cry Are those tears behind your eyes? Nuh uh, no, boys don't cry Keep it all inside this time Nuh uh, no, boys don't cry Not until the faithful day you die ‘cause boys don't cry ‘cause boys don't cry Stay strong, hold on, you’ve got to keep it together now. Just dry your eyes, ‘cause boys don’t cry. No, no, ‘cause boys don’t cry. No, no, ‘cause boys don’t cry. ‘cause boys don’t cry. ‘cause boys don’t cry.

@@dominikmichalek9391 I think the message is more about the stigma of society about boys/men crying and doing stuff only girls would do in their opinion.
