Iconic singer and songwriter ‪@ASAofficialvideo‬ sat with host Bolanle Olukanni for this refreshingly warm interview, and she talked about everything, from growing up as a young artistic girl in Jos, Nigeria, starting out as a dancer, and embracing her musical talents. It's Asa like you have never seen her before, and we hope you enjoy watching this episode as much as we enjoyed filming it.

First of all Asa is probably the greatest Nigerian artist ever. Lyrically unmatched. I went to same school with Asa, same set. It’s rather hurtful the way she perceives her mates. She was a loner as she clearly stated . She was strong willed and even boys wouldn’t dare mess with her. We were about 360 in our set and her experience with a few people should not be reason enough to generalize the whole set. FGC Jos was a bitter sweet experience. Had the best times of my life there and made my life long friends there . We all looked forward to Saturday social nights to watch her dance and damn she was good. Whatever she experienced there I hope she gets to overcome. Maybe she got bullied by our seniors but no one in our set did. In fact you dare not try it cos she could hold her own

I was just listening to some Asa music on Thanksgiving day. Nice weather in Cali, chilling outside while the food was getting ready. And I said, I haven’t seen any new stuff from Asa. At the same time, I’m not in a rush because timeless music takes time. Bolanle, I have to say your interviewing skills is superb, you are a gem. You ask interesting personal questions, not generic and we get to know who the person is and what makes them who they are. And Asa, geez you are a queen. And all I’m gonna say is, continue to stay true to yourself.
