And thus on April 1st 1997, started the journey of the greatest duo in Pocket Monster history.

Looking at Pikachu now it's easy to forget how much more comedic use the writers got out of him in Kanto

I want another Pikachu flashback episode showing how he met Oak. My fanficcy idea is that he came across a city (it'd probably have to be Viridian considering where Pikachu grew up) and some humans were mean to him (similar to the bullies being mean to Lapras in the Orange Islands) but Oak came to his rescue, but the abuse meant Pikachu didn't trust humans and wouldn't cooperate, so Oak was forced to capture him so he could get him some medical attention. Then he tried to rehabilitate Pikachu but we know how that turned out. :P

Pikachu is one of my favorite Kanto region Pokemon. Ash was right calling Lt. Surge out evolving his Pokemon too early.

Yeah from watching the whole series, I saw of how Pikachu became the strongest electric type in Ash’s team throughout the years. Heck it even took out a Latios, regardless of getting knocked out with it in the Sinnoh league. Since all of Ash’s Pokémon were eliminated Tobias won, since ya know having more than two Pokémon in his party and I bet that the rest of his party are legendaries as well. I remember when it first learned iron tail and still uses that move till this day, it’s a good move because it has the advantage against rock Pokémon and ice.

When you are done with all the parts of Pikachu , fuse them and make a movie for us 😂

In Electric Shock Showdown, at the Pokémon Center Nurse Joy enters the room revealing that she has come across a Thunder Stone. With it, Ash could evolve his Pikachu into a Raichu as well. Brock and Misty warn him to think 💭 hard about this, because once he evolves Pikachu, there is no way to change him back. At this, Ash is extremely torn. He knows that if he evolves Pikachu into Raichu, he might able to defeat Lt. Surge. However, he also realizes that if he would to evolve Pikachu just to battle, he would be no better than Lt. Surge. Finally, he decides to let Pikachu choose. Outside, Team Rocket watch intently to see what choice Pikachu will make. Pikachu stands up 🆙 and whacks away the Thunder Stone with its tail. Pikachu then goes into a tirade, which moves even Meowth to tears 😭. Meowth explains that Pikachu doesn’t want to change; he wants to battle Lt. Surge again, but as a Pikachu; he wants to win 🥇 in the name of all Pikachu everywhere. Ash argees with Pikachu’s decision and promises that they will win together.

I’ve always had this little theory that Oak made sure to have Pikachu ready for Ash after his younger self met him in movie 4. Edit: Also, you have to love how every single time the prospect of Pikachu evolving was made completely moot thanks to Journeys.

Up until Pokemon Journeys, Pikachu has already learned Thunder, Iron Tail, Volt Tackle, Electro Ball and Electro Web. He already got stronger as the story progresses and the years go by. I heard that Pikachu only won around 60% of its total number of battles, but Ash still loves it so much since Pikachu always do its best to win and never failed to impress Ash.

Ahh, Kanto Pikachu. The only pure electric-type Pokémon that could hit ground-types with electric-type moves.

Pikachu was my fav pokemon as a kid. I remember praying that he stayed as a pikachu and didnt evolve into a raichu. But i did want all the others to evolve. Especially Squirtle. I remember playing pokemon blue and desperate to get to viridian forest to catch a pikachu. I remember also playing pokemon yellow which was a whole new experience even with the same story as it was as close to the tv series as they could get it

Like 👍 I say before, in Pikachu’s Goodbye, Ash was going to leave his Pikachu in the forest 🌳 to be with its own kind, but Pikachu refuses and it came back to Ash and stays with him . It battles in some of the gyms . It’s with Ritchie’s Pikachu Sparky . It still refuses to get inside a Poké Ball . It defeats Team Rocket by using its attacks . It travels with Ash and his friends . It’s cheeks are red circles 🔴 . There’s 2 horizontal brown stripes on its back . It’s eyes 👀 are black with white highlights

this was a wonderful video & I can't wait to see how many parts Pikachu's history is going to be. The most touching episode for me was "Pikachu's goodbye" because that has the song "The Time Has Come" in it & that song holds a special place in my heart because I played that song at my mom & Aunt Cathy's funeral because they were the most important people to me & I miss them a lot, plus my mom & I used to watch the pokemon anime while we waited for Yu-Gi-Oh to come on

To be honest I would like to see Ash's Pikachu evolve into Raichu 😉👍at last because Raichu is my favourite more than Pikachu but the Japanese writer would not allow this to happen because to them Pikachu is the star of the show as well as being the favourite and most popluar of all Pokemon in Japan and the World so I respected and accept it.

Nice mini profile of my #1 favorite Pokémon in the entire franchise. It doesn't matter which of the games I've played (FireRed, Diamond, X, Sun and Ultra Sun), I always had to have a Pikachu in my party of Pokémon. In Pokémon Ultra Sun, my Pikachu is wearing Ash's cap from the movie Pokémon: I Choose You.
