Gasbags, Haunted, Empties And Withered. The "monster square" of abandoned zones in Ashes, infesting those places with their presence.

This is one of my favorite maps in Hard Reset. I love the farmland design, the simple familiar action with the vultures, all leading to the grim sights when we enter the home and the basement. I agree with you about the level design; for Hard Reset, it's really the best part.

The older I get, the more of a sucker I become for good level design. We have indeed come a long way from the nonstop corridors and mazes of the first entries into the genre LOL

We sure have come a long way. I mean, Doom II proper has fun gameplay that overshadows its mostly abstract level design in quality. Mods like these make pristine works of art with Doom, such that if you asked me 20 years ago, I would not have thought this possible. It’s always amazing to see the amazing work modders take to build something absolutely beautiful and pleasant.

It's cool that you will find various switches you have to flip along the way that read "reset". Kinda ties in with the main theme of the game. :)

that one damn room with only four shotguns shells i can seem to jump back into the vent.

Also, the pistol-using Vulture is called the Vulture Thug, and the shotgunner is the Vulture Outlaw. Hopefully now I'll remember that going forward :x

This was one of the maps that were most enjoyable to me in Hard Reset. Nice level design, cool props and puzzles, interactive environments and atmosphere. Not too hard either. :)

Haunts always unnerve me, particularly in near pitch-black darkness.

Aww, you missed the Dusk reference in secret N°3 :(. I guess even the weapon and ammo you find are also Dusk references but there's something on the wall of that secret (which also explains why the game gets so red all of a sudden)
