taking the bandits out with the crossbow has another benefit - if you wound them and they survive, they'll dose up and you'll have to shoot them again but faster and tougher. also, the sundial actually advances every half hour, because i'm a massive loser.

This is one of my favorite maps in Hard Reset. Nice use of the boltcaster action on the Black Water bandits.

@Chozo_Ghost Nice playthrough! Good shooting with that bowcaster! I shot Murphy the first time around as well, though I didn't kill him. He just kept running wildly around the map after I killed the Black Water Bandit boss. Finally caught up with him and got the 100 scrap! :D

34:33 - "oh hi murphy" XDDD for some reason i didnt get the dialogues option with the doctor at the start of the map , and later when discovered Ezra i didnt get whats going on .thanks for the playthrough(s), thats explains a lot!

So far everything is tying up pretty nice with afterglow. Remember that ex-bandit we met in prosperity? he told us the story of what went down in the cordon, though the way he talked about the blackwater boss, made me think that he was a big, muscular and savage man, but we got a bozo with a welder's mask instead. Also, that satanic symbolism displayed by the bandits around the area made me reach the conclusion that they believed the blackwater came directly from hell itself and the power it gives you is of a dark and esotherical nature, but for now let's say that, just like most things in ashes and fallout, it all has a mundane origin.

I'm challenging myself without crosshair and it's definitely more difficult and fun. You will see the other sight for the rifle is very helpful when you need some precision sniping. If you want to challenge yourself even further, you can do that. Also, the kill Murphy part was pretty funny

3:45 I love how unhinged this entry is compared to the previous ones. Wait for the second map after this one 33:58 I almost shot Murphy with a double-barrel shot lol. Luckily all of the pellets hit the boss instead. Slight story (for those who didn't know): - If I remember correctly, you can find an ex-black water bandit in Afterglow, Prosperity's bar. (He's been hiding for 3 years now, should we tell him?) - Doc Murphy is voiced by the one who spearheaded Hard Reset (RetroMuffin34), I believe. (maybe one day we'll see Chozo in Ashes)

As far as I remember, the doctor in the Junkyard in Ashes Afterglow also has some dialogue about the bandits/raiders sticking their junk in everthing, and getting gonorreah etc. Asks scav if he wants treatment for it. :D

Nice video! Quick question: which key bindings do you configure your crossbow and the Master blaster? I noticed it doesnt appeared mapped on your configuration on the bottom corner. I use a Razer Orbweaver to play these kind of games (Duke, shadow warrior, blood, doom, ashes, etc) and I always put all the weapons in the slots 1,2,3,4,R,F,V,C (pipebombs/dynamite is always tactical, so I use mouse3 for them) That way I have quick access to everything I need really close (Medkit is Q, Use is E, Reload is mouse4 and Flashlight is mouse5 for me)

They are both at their default keybindings (7 and 8 iirc). I just don't have my Nohboard showing anything past the 5 key so the shape stays as uniform as possible 😅

But I use other, more unorthodox bindings for certain things as well. "Use Inventory" is usually MMB, "Quick Melee" is usually Mouse 5 (the forward button on the side of the mouse), etc. Just so I can have them easily reachable, like you mentioned. I've also never liked using Ctrl for crouching. In games that don't have a sprint or dash function, I use Shift to crouch, since I don't have to move my hand lol. Otherwise I typically use C for crouch

@@Chozo_Ghost I agree, I crouch with Shift and use caps for Sprint when it is applicable, otherwise is reserved for some utility (like a Quick jetpack or Jump Boots). I think we all have our way of playing it. For these games I mapped on my mind [1 is meele], [2 is the handgun], [3 and 4 are the workhorses shotgun and smg/automatic rifle], [R is close to my fingers, and is for the explosive launcher like Duke RPG or Ashes Master Blaster or Blood Napalm Launcher], [F is also close to my fingers, and is reserved for the high precision weapons like Shadow warrior Railgun, Blood Tesla gun or Ashes Crossbow], [V is also close, reserved to some super weapon like Dukes Devastator or some conditional weapon like shadow warrior demon head], [When C is needed, is probably for some kind of novelty], [grenades is always mouse3]
