'लोकसत्ता शहरभान'च्या कार्यक्रमाला यावेळी मुंबई मेट्रो रेल कार्पोरेशनच्या संचालक आणि मनपाच्या अतिरिक्त आयुक्त अश्विनी भिडे यांनी उपस्थिती लावली होती. मुंबईतील मेट्रो प्रकल्प अनेक कारणांनी अनेकदा चर्चेत राहिला आहे. शहरातील लोकसंख्या वाढत आहे. अशावेळी शहर व्यवस्थापनाच्या दृष्टीने मेट्रो प्रकल्प एक महत्त्वाचा भाग आहे. या संदर्भात अश्विनी भिडे यांनी शहरभानच्या मंचावरून मेट्रो ३ प्रकल्पाविषयी सविस्तर भूमिका मांडली.

The Line 3 project cost increased from 22000 to 37000 crores due to stoppage of works and investments done in project infrastructure without returns as anticipated. The interest costs and price variations in running contracts land costs have Inflated.

There are hundreds and hundreds of absolutely brilliant innovative people working in private sector who will actualy lead this type of projects much much better in technical financial terms but our project need is mostly handling typical red tapizm of govt in which ias officers are trained .it's a tragedy for nation actively that there is no direct access to more brilliant people to handle ,implement govt infrastructure projects.

Best bus , s.t.bus and other cities public buses are not seen at large over worli Vandre Sagar setu , new sealink shivadi navasheva should be used for best bus service at large , from worli passport office to Vandre station service should be started at each 15 minits interval . Crores of rs of tax payers are invested in such projects , only car centric planning results in creating new issues 9f pollution and traffic jam so all new infrastructure should be primarily used for public transport and then for private transport
