Gambhir is one of the greatest to play for India. I have not seen him speak bad about Dhoni unlike many people think. He admires Dhoni for his contribution. Even on the worldcup 2011 related talks. He only says everyone deserves the credit

When GG retired he was the one who said that dhoni is a lucky captain and winning trophies doesn't make him a great captain, whereas in case of VK in 2019-20 he said that RCB is yet to win IPL trophy and VK is still lucky to play and captain RCB, for GG parameter for judging is own team mates is different and he keeps contradicting his own past statements depending upon the situation.

I was a Dhoni fan when i just started watching and new nothing about cricket. But with time knowing this subject better what i felt was cricket is something beyond idolizing one player. This is a game of a team of 11. I neither idolize GG but i see him as a fearless skilled player. So is Dhoni as well. But there’s nothing special. Its just media and marketing who has made people see just one person as a god and idolize him. All praises to him which is kind of unfair considering cricket being a team game. People should think and start questioning themselves than being trapped in a small frame created by media and blindly following their marketing strategies.

When he talked about small contributions, my mind immediately went to Ramandeep. He has been spectacular in this seasons and somehow went under radar due to other fabulous contributions from the top order. But for me his 8-15 ball knocks made the difference in many of the KKR wins.

Spot on. Ramandeep and Rinku were those two. Ramandeep was absolutely the find, and its criminal that 20Lakhs yields you a performance worth 2 crores, but that has been on our luck this season and similar with Salt, who cemented himself as a club legend in his first season coming in as a temporary. Rinku, even in his supposed out of form season, frequently fielded well and shone when he could with the bat. It's just his contributions weren't even necessary, which says a lot about how well the team performed.

People talk about the 75* in 2007 and the 97 in 2011. For me, it was also the Napier Test in 2009 where he batted for three continuous days to save the test match for the nation. It was unfortunate that he couldn’t captain India’s side for at least 2-3 years. He is absolute beast mentality where winning for the team and nation is utmost priority which reflects in his love for Indian Army. 🇮🇳

I always cite the New Zealand series. We became no 1 in tests thanks to Tendulkar and GG, Zak and Ishant in that series. GG literally helped India get T20 WC, Test No 1 Rankings and ODI WC and dipped.

But atleast 80% of his current popularity is because of his IPL franchise. Ask a kid who Herschel Gibbs, Jacques Kallis, Makhaya Ntini, heck even Dale Steyn were and you'll get pin drop silence and head scratches. They hear about his partnerships with Kohli and how he smashed MI or some other team. I could bet a substantial amount to say none of them know about the 30 odd he made of 250+ balls in a dust Bowl against India. That was an innings worthy of a champion. Yet no one will know about it.

Best interview yet in this channel. Gambhirs style reminds so much of Ganguly. There is a lot of Aussie quality in him , the Borders, the Waughs. This guy knows what team building is about. Any question any time, is right off the bat . He never ever looks for answers. Those KKR sides were excellent.

Former KKR team director Joy Bhattacharya once said- If you are in Gautam's team, he'll take a bullet for you. I think that's enough to describe this guy. What a man! Today we see Rohit Sharma whining about not being the captain where he himself has lost his touch. And then there's Gautam, who went to a different franchise with a mission, and when he couldn't deliver, he was the one to hand over the captaincy to a young Shreyas and sit out and support the team from the dugout.

Gambhir in 2014, went to SRK and said he'll drop himself after a start of 0,0,0,1 but SRK backed him and he lead KKR to 9 consecutive victories in 9 games. They lost a game against RR when they had a 121 run opening stand but lost 6 wickets in 2 overs to Watson and Tambe and after that game he took responsibility and tried to finish off games himself along with Robin Uthappa

Its not about coach, few years ago same thing said about dravid if he will be coach then india will do this , do that . Unfortunately india not winning icc trophies has nothing to do with skills , coaches. Fear of failure which is also our indian mentality that he is virat has to be like that , he is rohit has to play like that, This indeed put our players under such immense pressure as compare to any other player playing cricket from other country.excessive pressure especially nowadays with social media on our own team is one of the major reason india not performing in knockouts.

Logical person??? In 2019 IPL in one of the match when samson scored a century,he made a comment that samson is India's no.4 batsman for 2019 world cup and at that time samson was nowhere near to India national Team selection now try to find logic in that.
