asian parents, A* grades, medical school, diasporas, stereotypes, EMOTIONAL DAMAGE: let's talk about it.
clips used from shang chi, kung fu hustle, everything everywhere all at once, turning red, crazy rich asians. all pretty decent films, mostly released in the past two years.
of course this isn't every Asian experience, this is just one experience of a British born Chinese boy who grew up in a small village in England. but I hope this gives some insight.
about me: my name is daniel jin sun and I am a uk doctor who recently graduated from edinburgh medical school. I also make the videos and I take the photographs

If you had to stay up every time and be the "only uber driver" for your kids (or even now), you would like them to stick to an agreed time as well. An anonymous free of charge typical Asian uber driver for life.

5 KZfaq uploads in 3 weeks, is that some *con-sis-ten-cee* I smell? Well just like my parents in this video, learn to lower your expectations, because I have no further video currently in the works atm. BUT it means I am open to any video ideas at all, so HIT ME UP with suggestions. Also English CC subs available for this video, if any of the audio sounds a bit muffled. Enjoy!

Hey, love your videos! do you think you could make a video on how clinical years worked at Edinburgh and what the transition was like from pre clinical to clinical? I've just started at the uni but I have honestly no idea of how the later years work and what exams are like...

I think your parents are genuinely wholesome. I often wished that my parents would have pushed me harder. There were very little expectations or pressure from them. I was the one that pressured myself into doing well and working hard. that extra pressure might just have taken me that extra step further. Or not. I don’t know. All I’m saying maybe at least some pressure isn’t a bad thing.

This was brilliant, love your relationship with your parents! Really enjoying all the uploads so thanks for all the hard work - for video ideas: would be interesting to see how you plan and edit such fab content, asking friends/colleagues what they think about your youtube channel (I'm a doctor and would be a tad nervous about being judged ngl), take us round your favourite Edinburgh spots

Haha thanks so much for the comment and the suggestions Fred. Overthinking what colleagues think is definitely something I suffer from too - there's a reason I only posted three videos during my two foundation years, and then seven videos once I left the training deanery!
