The 40th New York was sponsored by the Democratic Party in NYC, specifically Mozart Hall in Manhattan and had many Irish immigrants in the ranks, including Thomas Egan and James Mallon. Tammany Hall was a rival Democratic faction in NYC at the time and sponsored the 42nd New York.

1:08:23 Having grown up near there, Tim loves talking about the Pipe Creek fall back position and thinking about what it would’ve been like if it came to that. Why did one of the hosts take a @&$*% on it?
