It's a great day to have an online English lesson, but we'll need to be inside today! It looks like it might rain during the lesson, and I don't want to get caught outside with all my livestreaming equipment! Sorry! I know some of you really like the great outdoors!
I certainly hope you don't mind being inside for this one and I hope you are ready to learn some English! In today's lesson I will take questions from viewers about usage, pronunciation, vocabulary, and phrases and then I will do my best to answer as many questions as I can. This Q&A session works great as listening practice as well!
I know that sometimes when you are learning a language like English there are things you just can't find the answer to without talking to a native speaker. I'll do my best to help you!
I hope you enjoy this English lesson!
This English video lesson is from Saturday August 29, 2020
✅ P.S. If you are interested I have created a podcast of my shorter English lessons. It is right here: www.buzzsprout.com/1310116
⌛ Remember: Always watch the video two times. Once today without subtitles, and then once again later with subtitles on to help understand parts where you did not understand me! This will reinforce the English you have learned!

Between eavesdropping and overhearing the main difference is that eavesdropping is direct (the person wants to do it) but overhearing happens usually accidentally.

Hello teacher Bob. Today I've watched the live stream. It was amazing. My students always ask my how many vocabulary they should learn in order to start talking .As a French teacher, how many vocabulary approximately do you know? How could non-native speakers make a compromise between formal English to use them in writing and informal to be able to understand native speakers. Thanks.

Sneaking and creeping: the first one means that someone goes very silently - the second one means the same but with that added characteristic, the proceeding is not only very slow but annoying like I can think of the song of Michael Jackson, in one of his famous song, creatures creep up from the ground. It is not only silent but annoying and fear-inducing.

Shenandoah valley borders on Blue Ridge Mountain from the East and Ridge and Valley Appalachians from the West, I checked it out in Wikipedia. This name recalls something in my memory, I heard about but but I don't know exactly what. Perhaps I was reading a book and its name was mentioned and I also like the sound of it. Have you been there?
