Welcome back to another episode of The Viall Files: Ask Nick Edition! Before we get to our callers, we talk about last week’s caller… A lot of you wanted to know our thoughts, and some of you even wrote in!
Our first caller had her engagement party spoiled by her “best friend,” who proceeded to bail on said party. She is afraid to confront her friend over this blunder and reconsider her as a bridesmaid. Our second caller got dumped over a spicy encounter she had over two years ago, long before they met. She struggles to acknowledge his hypocrisy and worries about sharing her history with future partners. Our final caller finds herself in a financial bind because of her “shopaholic” husband. Should she consider surrogacy to pay off her extreme debt? Or should she help her husband get to the root of his spending problem?

Being shamed by a man about your past is a dealbreaker. She dodged a bullet and shouldn’t ever contact him again.

Exactly. It’s the double standard like always. Breaking up with you on text says A LOT about his character. First caller dodged a bullet

Definitely a deal breaker, I do sorta wish she could shame him back by pointing out she’s disappointed to find out he texts breakups & how his thinking is ridiculous & judgmental & sexist. If he tried to get back with her tho it’d be terrible for her to give him another chance, which it sounds like she would, because he’d be a condescending jerk most likely through what we have heard so you’re probably correct in that she should never speak to him again.

She trusted him and wanted to open up to him and she definitely shouldn't be shamed. I think it was more about having it with supervisors during a conference, while being a teacher combined with the attitude " I've always thought about it, so I guess it was the time to do it." It could damage her career.

I think it’s hilarious reading the bride to be’s text message, and it comes out that SHE also did not go to her friends engagement party OR bridal shower!! Did you all catch that? 😂 Everyone is so “I need to put myself first” these days until a friend does that back to them and then they’re outraged. Grow up, sorry. You’re getting back what you put into this friendship.

Agreed I kept thinking what did you do in the relationship lol. And then thought double standards when you didn’t go.

Lmaoooo this guy saying he wants to give her a baby, buy her a house, while having sex w someone you’ve known for a couple of months? That’s crazy Emotionally immature men do a lot of future speak in the context of not knowing someone all that well

People make way too big of a deal of getting engaged especially if you have picked a ring , live together . Shows like the bachelor have skewed ideas of how much attention engagements should get. I know you put much thought into yours but if you weren’t a social media person I doubt you’d have been so inclined.

The caller re: the “best friend”/ bridesmaid….oooof Painful to listen to That woman has shown that she just isn’t a true friend. Married or not, you show up and/or communicate in person and with EMPATHY with a close friend.

Thought I might share this TED talk of this researcher who talks about the biochemical reactions of men and women falling in love. It's a little eyebrow-raising in the beginning (the researcher's grandmother starts talking about women "jumping into bed too early"), but the research found that the female "love" chemical (oxytocin) spikes for women just after sex. The male "love" chemical (vassopressin) however decreases after sex. When a male "commits" to a partner however, they found that their testosterone drops, which allows for the receptors to receive more vassopressin. Essentially, the research found that women are more likely to fall in love after they've had sex whereas men fall in love once they have committed romantically to a partner. kzfaq.info/get/bejne/m9-hZbqgmcu5dJs.html

When young people pull closer, or chase each other . Why are their so many disappointments in America , live on water . The simple & innocent in young people is a discovery . When Ethnics acknowledge soul mates . What happened to hot couples ? What happened to a household dressed hot everyday, children, grandchildren to open conversations . Some Ethnics have different variations within their group . When the maturity is a love affair .

Second caller was rightfully rejected based on her sexual past. It's even worse that she doesn't think the threesome was a mistake. And Nick is a bigger hypocrite.
